Finally, it’s time to take a look at the roster of WWE ECW, the red-headed (no offense, Sheamus) stepchild (no offense, Sheamus) of World Wrestling Entertainment. While no longer your daddy’s ECW, Brand No. 3 has turned into a proving ground for new talent (CM Punk, John Morrison, Jack I Love You Swagger) and a [...]

A couple of days ago I was inspired to begin looking at the still-lopsided rosters of WWE’s three brands. Two things precipitated this idea: Batista jumping to Smackdown to fill in all sorts of babyface gaps, and the concern that, much like we used to say about Raw, the “superior” Smackdown brand has no midcard. [...]

Jim Ross is gonna have my ass for this (and he can have it, as long as he brings it back tender, juicy and slathered with chipotle ketchup), but after discussing with Kevin on a recent audio the state of the WWE Intercontinental and United States championships, and with Rey Mysterio’s suspension, Jeff Hardy’s time [...]

During the recording of our Best of WWE Summerslam audio, I suggested the Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H match from Summerslam 2002 was the greatest match in Summerslam history. Dusty immediately said, “Well, one of them.” I immediately thought of three other great matches off the top of my head and many more that could [...]

WWE just announced a BLOCKBUSTER (read: stupid, unnecessary) shake-up of each of its three rosters. Fifteen wrestlers, five from each brand, just finished a game of musical chairs or, in some cases, musical pink slips. Let’s see how the moves stack up, for the wrestlers, for the brands and for the fans.
MOVES TO RAW
Evan Bourne: [...]

(Thanks to Jason Powell at Prowrestling.net for so diligently checking JR’s blog. And thanks to JR’s BBQ employee Tim for hooking me up with some chipotle ketchup about two years ago.) Jim Ross discussed the recent WWE draft on his blog at JRsbarbq.com and addressed whatever criticism may have come DOWN THE PIKE~! regarding the [...]

(This is a formal movie review; sometime in the next week I plan to pen a more wrestling-centric write-up with a lot more “Whoa, they showed that?” and “Why the hell was Capt. Lou Albino in the shot?” type of stuff.)
MICK-EY-ROURKE! MICK-EY-ROURKE!
Only a year and a half removed from thickly muscled professional wrestler Chris Benoit [...]

Don’t ask me how or why I came across this video. (I mostly don’t want you to ask me because I’m super drunk right now and I don’t remember. In fact, I’ve had to type this sentence four times to get it right.) It is embarrassingly bad in pretty much every [...]

I’m watching Survivor Series 1996, with one of the feature attractions being Bret “Hitman” Hart vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Hart was returning from an extended leave of absence (following his WWF Title loss to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XII – “Tell him to get the fuck out of my ring” … heh heh heh), [...]

Bound For Glory, TNA’s flagship pay-per-view, took place Sunday. I don’t give a good god damn what happened on the show, but the show was an opportunity for the monthly jokes about how terrible TNA’s PPV names are to crop up.
But in comparison to WWE’s PPV names (and certainly Ring of Honor’s DVD titles, which [...]
