#Wrestlemania Weekend – Cbus Edition

Just in case you're confused like Mr. Maes, that is my foot. Sleeping from left to right, Jer, Kia and Cayenne.

I thought we’d get more work done for the site with Jeremy & I in the same spot. We didn’t have to worry about taking the MARTA and using at least thirty minutes of time to do so. We weren’t going to have to hunt for food like we did in Atlanta after the hour of 8:00 PM. We ended up finding out that showing off a cool city that you’re familiar with takes up more time than going to CNN, the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. The last time Jeremy was here was four or five years ago. I was limited by my ex-wife who didn’t like to try new places. I’ve been liberated and wanted to show it off to the first friend that has been to Columbus who hadn’t lived here before. We talked plenty of wrestling while we were out so I’m going to give you a preview of where you’d go if you stopped in to visit along with some additional thoughts on wrestling we talked about.

Friday Gallo’s Tap Room – They offer a number of microbrewery beers on tap so it has Sippy Time Beer Award written all over it. On top of that, they’ve got some seriously delicious bar food. The menu isn’t that long (check the link) but it’s high quality bar food. Sippy Time Beer Choice – Columbus Brewing  Company India Pale Ale. Wrestling thoughts: Our plan for this evening was to do a round up this evening. We didn’t take down many beers, but after an eight hour drive for him and the woman and a full day of work & week for yours truly led to a sleepy crew. There wasn’t much to update than the players in Team Johnny vs Team Teddy. It wouldn’t have changed my pick for Team Johnny. I’ll hope that his character does as well as he did on Monday. And also takes up as much air time. I have a doubt on the later because we’re not going to have a Rock farewell speech or a appearance by Brock Lesnar after a lengthy John Cena promo.

SaturdayLa Casita & Bob’s Bar – The former is the finest of three Mexican establishments in my neighborhood and the only place that Jeremy had been to previously. We took down some good grub and a pitcher of tasty margaritas. At Bob’s Bar, they serve over two hundred beers with thirty six of them coming off a tap. Sippy Time Beer Choice – Left Handed Brewing Company – Smoke Jumper, an Imperial Porter. Wrestling Thoughts: I was expecting to watch the Hall of Fame ceremonies this night. It wasn’t until Monday Night Raw that it was noted the show would be aired on Monday. I still haven’t watched it. I’m sure it’ll be fun but I wish more of inductions were in there. We were at the event in Atlanta and it last approximately three hours. An hour of TV will not do the ceremony justice.

SundayBabushka’s, homemade meatballs & a Great Lakes Variety Pack – Babushka’s is a Polish joint that opened up about a year ago. I hadn’t had the chance to eat there yet so I figured the Pollack in Jeremy would be a good excuse to try it. It was some good food so long as you like cabbage or pierogies. After getting fat and sassy, we took a nice walk then grabbed the variety pack on our way back to my place. I still have plenty of meatballs left. Good thing I have a large freezer. I have five quarts of tomato sauce in there too. It’s a big undertaking and quite delicious. The twelve pack had Edmund Fitzgerald, Dortmunder Gold and Commodore Perry but my Sippy Time Beer Choice – Eliot Ness. It’s one of my top five favorite beers. I know I’ve pimped it before but I’ll repeat myself. Wrestling Thoughts: The jokes that didn’t make it into the blog were too many because context is everything. I hope you had a good crew to watch. It would have been nice if my neighbors were wrestling fans but they were a nice addition to the crew. After having re-watched the whole thing, I still think this show is in the B-/C+ area. Good but not great, it would have been fun to get Dusty on audio with his take on Undertaker versus HHH and the card as a whole but my week hasn’t been any less busy without Jeremy & his woman around. Hence this going up on Friday.

WrestleMania 28 – The Audio Review

Another year has come and gone so let us review. Jeremy and Kevin round up this year’s WrestleMania in audio fashion for all you loyal boys and girls. What was the best match? What match caused a severe hang over? What match seemed forced for no apparent reason and adversely effected the beginning of a four Kev encounter? How did he announcers drop the ball when it seemed obvious there was an overriding theme for the evening? Did The Rock and John Cena live up to the hype? Was this show worth a trip to Miami? All this and more so if you have come this far why not sixty more minutes?

WrestleMania 28 quick match ratings

So WrestleMania 28 has come and gone. What did you think of the show? Did it live up to the hype pr fall flat? Let us know. In the mean time here are my ratings of each match using our brand spanking new ratings system; The Kev. These are subject to change upon repeat viewings of the matches so eat one.

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan

What the fuck was that?   I give it one Kev simply for AJ.

Kane vs. Randy Orton

Not appalling but not memorable. Randy losing clean was a nice surprise. 2 Kevs

Cody Rhodes vs. The Big Show

Not an insulting match but wrong guy won.

Beth Phoenix and Eve vs. Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos

Yeah who cares but why Beth? 1 Kev.

Triple H vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell)

Years ahead of last years effort. Great final match, if that be the case, for all of them.

Team Johnny vs. Team Teddy

Ok whatever, Johnny gets to be on both shows now so that is fine. Teddy will be back soon enough. Then there is the case of Eve.

C.M. Punk vs. Chris Jericho

Wonky beginning kind of hurt what was a damn fine match.

The Rock vs. John Cena

Good match but the rumors of Brock Lesnar hurt the finish. Cena needed to return that potato.

We will be back later with a full rundown of the event so check back. -Jeremy

Brock Lesnar and Dave Batista at WrestleMania 28?

Let the speculation begin with these two news items hot off the wire. It has been reported that Dave Batista, star of The Scorpion King 3 along with Billy Zane, is in Miami. Now he is supposedly doing work for The St Jude Children’s Hospital but we all know there is no chance of that. Primarily due to the fact that all of the children in a children’s hospital are way too young for his poon hound ass. Making matters even more clear is he is supposed to be in one leg of a triathlon and really, come on, Batista running, biking or swimming is an obvious torn muscle waiting to happen. So, we all have to figure he will appear on the WrestleMania broadcast in some capacity. Best bet for his appearance is during the divas match. This way he can make it way more interesting by pulling out his schlong and yelling ” Did ya miss me?” This would increase the workrate, internet mark alert, of this match exponentially.

Also, Brock Lesnar is negotiating with WWE to appear at WrestleMania 28 as well, according to Prowrestling.net. Lesnar was last seen being pummeled in a UFC octagon by Alistair Overeem. Soon after the rumblings started that he would return to WWE but that talk had been quiet for the last few months. So, we now get to play the same game of placing Brock Lesnar on WrestleMania 28. The only place to go would be the main event and The Rock even let the cat out of the bag last week so it seems like there will be some sort of interference. Now, if this is the case does this match go on last? Do they really want another ending similar to last year’s? Or could Lesnar simply appear at the end of the show for a stare down? Could he possibly pick up on the Undertaker confrontation? -Jeremy

WrestleMania 28 Preview #8- John Cena vs The Rock

And so it has come to this. One year of hype, title reigns, trash talk and bad blood finally culminates at WrestleMania 28. Rock versus John Cena. They are billing it as “Once in a lifetime” but is that true? What are the possibilities we see this match again and sooner than WrestleMania 29? Do the boys have a reason to bitch about Rock being in the main event? Who wins this? Yeah we asked this on all the previews but no really, who the hell wins this thing? Rock jobs in his home town? Cena bitches out to an actor? This could be a fascinating spectacle or a total jizzbag. So listen and see where the guys fall on this one.

WrestleMania 28 Preview #6- Team Johnny vs Team Teddy

Ok look this was recorded before Monday Night Raw and we nailed it. Then they go and change it so WWE can suck one. Who did the guys think were going to be the replacement wrestlers? They actually nailed two of them but not Team Teddy’s surprise entrant. Who wins this match and why? Do they dare upset the Giebink and get rid of Johnny? Can WWE afford to have no Laurinaitis on their airwaves? Is the evil GM played out and is the good GM not as good as you think? There is a whole lot more so download the thing and listen.

We have reached the half way point and are finally getting to the interesting matches for WrestleMania 28. This time out is the WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Chris Jericho. Who wins? Is this a one off match or is it the beginning of a feud/ Why did they fell the need to bring personal issues in to the match? How did the early hype on Jericho play in to the build for this match? Should Jericho have won the Royal Rumble to solidify his claim as the best in the world? All this and more in a nice twenty minute package.
