Stunt Granny Audio Show #175

Jeremy and Kevin are back for another Raw recap. Except they take an unexpected tour of Smackdown at the beginning of a show. Did the guys infuriate Eric even more by enjoying more of Daniel Bryan’s antics? Could AJ be the evil woman masterminding behind Bryan’s turn? Is the WWE Mole back and listening to Stunt Granny’s audios? They move on to HHH and Undertaker. Did HHH’s respect lead to more veiled shots than compliments? Did it make sense for the Undertaker to have a video package? Speaking of video packages, how many of them were there on Raw? David Otunga didn’t get one but why did he get mic time? Should he get his own line of coffee mugs? What fantasy does Jeremy have about it’s use? Of course the guys get around to talking about Chris Jericho and the silent CM Punk. Who’s wardrobe should be changed? How obvious is it that these two will be fighting at Wrestlemania? The guys end by talking about Gisele and her take on the Patriots. It’s funny enough to keep you laughing as soon as you click the link below.

Stunt Granny Audio Show #175

#PWOwrestling – Season 5 – Episode 9

"Amazing" N8 Mattson has a story to start the show.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire kick the show off by telling us that Johnny Gargano will respond to Sex Appeal tonight. The main event is the Dead Wrestling Society (with a graphic showing Kirst & Krimson) against Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick) for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Ben Fruith will also take on Brian Bender. The opener will be “Amazing” N8 Mattson with Benjamin Boone against Michael “The Bomber” Facade. Mattson comes out with a broken thumb. He blamed Aeroform for breaking it during the title match. Mattson said they’d get what is coming for them. He then said his in ring career is indefinitely on hold. Mattson said he’s going to unleash the “Big Bear” on PWO. He said that Boone will meet all of his in ring requirements. Maguire harped on Facade not being able to win the big match. Boone kept his distance while Facade threw some kicks. Boone showed off his power in collar and elbow tie ups. Satellite head scissors by Facade started his offense. Facade tried to leap frog Boone but he was still standing up. (I’m thinking that botch was on Boone. I have no idea though.) Facade Pele Kicked Boone to the outside. Facade sling shotted over the ropes but fell short. Boone picked him up and slammed him into the post. (They’ve recovered nice from each miss.) Boone slammed him into the the ring apron. Boone rolled him back inside. A leg drop only got a two count. Boone locked in a Bear Hug. A running shoulder block by Boone got another two count. Mattson tried to get involved so Facade chased him. Boone attacked from behind. Boone missed a charge into a corner. An inverted atomic drop was followed by a heel kick. Boone went outside to recover. Facade climbed onto the entrance curtains with a cross body. He took off the gui and got Boone back into the ring. Boone kicked out of a missile drop kick. Mattson distracted the ref, Jason Gorey came out and clocked Facade with the belt. Boone splashed Facade for the three count.

Analysis: Two botches doesn’t help the quality of the match. It was wrestled well aside from the noted mistakes and booked nicely with Gorey helping out Boone who couldn’t really lose just getting back into the singles ranks. Facade looked like he was going to win so it worked out in the end. Score: 0.

Kirst was outside for his promo while it was snowing. He told Greg (Iron) that their mother’s both were drug addicts. Kirst said that both of their father’s were bad. Kirst said that he was at the same show that CM Punk lauded Greg. He said he’s going to give him a real disability, broken legs. Analysis: That was pretty solid. It gave him a good reason outside of just being “evil” to hate Iron. Score: +1.

“Sassy” Stephie said she is excited to make her long awaited return to PWO & STO. She said she’ll make Veda Scott kiss her “Sass”. Analysis: I would have bought it if she had more gusto. I was quite surprised by her red hair. Score: 0.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 5

The battle of Michigan is the main event. Wolverines fighting is so much cooler than seeing two dumb mascots fight.

As Joe Dombrowski & Aaron Maguire, I can’t stop staring at the woman in the background not paying attention and tugging on her beer bottle label. The main event is going to be for the PWO Tag Team Title Match between the Sons of Michigan (“Amazing” N8 Mattson & Benjamin Boone) and Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick). Jason Gory defends the PWO Televison Championship against Brian Bender to start the program. Maguire is acting dejected because Marion Fontaine did not win back the PWO Title. Bender knocked down Gory and clamped on a headlock. Bender slammed him then he rolled outside. Gory suckered in Bender and pulled him onto the second rope. They fought back and forth with Gory getting in more offense. Gory hit a Miz like corner clothesline. Gory sling shotted back in and drop kicked Bender. Gory put Bender in a reverse chin lock. Bender clubbed his way out of an attempted back breaker. A running jaw jacker by Gory got the momentum back for him. Bender caught Gory coming off the second rope with a urinogi. Bender back dropped Gory. Bender got a two count after an implant DDT. Gory slapped on a key lock submission attempt. (It kind of looked like an Anaconda Vice around Bender’s head.) Gory double stomped Bender off the top rope. Krimson came to ringside and threw a chair into the ring. Matthew Justice made the save.

Analysis: Maguire ended up selling the submission after the fact but they needed to get to mentioning it earlier since it was new. I had no idea it was a finisher and expected Bender to easily get out. Bender got in much more offense than I expected. Gory used too many big man moves in my book. He’s gone from high flyer to punch and kick offense. It’s less sloopy but doesn’t suit his slight frame. He needs to use his speed more still. The corner clothesline was a perfect example of using his speed because he almost made it look like a combination with a 619 he came in so hot. Score: +1.

Gregory Iron said that in one week he has a match up against Johnny Gargano. He vowed to bring everything he’s got. Iron said that this will be good for practice for taking on the Dead Wrestling Society, Kirst, Gory & Krimson. He said he’ll fight back even if he has to do it alone. Analysis: It was a nice little promo that got tied in his history with Gargano and his present with the DWS. Score: +1.

“Mr. RBI” Isaiah Bonds made his debut. (Oh boy. I just don’t like these types of gimmicks when it’s pegged to a profession. Even worse when it’s geared to one person. They billed him as being from McCovey Cove to boot. Yikes.) His opponent is Daniel Arkham. Maguire knocks it out of the park when asked what the wrestlers strategies would be in this match. He said “RBI is going to try and win the match.” Dombrowski quipped back “I couldn’t do without you, Aaron.” RBI knocked down Arkham with a pair of shoulder blocks. Arkham back elbowed Bonds then clotheslined him. An atomic drop put Arkham on a roll. RBI reversed an Irish whip and sent Arkham into a corner. Bonds clubbed down Arkham. RBI got reversed then tried to leap over Arkham with the aid of the ropes.Arkham gave Bonds a Side Effect for the win.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 4

There's a new authority figure in PWO. Is he a licensed architect?

Joe Dombrowski & Aaron Maguire kick off the show by telling us the main event is “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine taking on Jason Bane again, Krimson is battling Bryan Castle and first is Nicki Valentino against “Omega” Aaron Draven. Bobby Shields was at ring side for his Sex Appeal team mate. (The announcers seem exceptionally loud. It sounds like they’re echoing through out the venue.) Fast paced action started the match until Valentino took Draven’s legs out from under him when he was going for a spring board maneuver. Valentino cross faced him then drop kicked him in the back. Dombrowski accused Maguire of paying people off for the lumber jack match later between Fontaine & Bane. Valentino locked in a modified reverse chin lock. Draven countered out with a jaw jacker. Draven sentoned onto Valentino who was draped over the second rope. Draven clotheslined Valentino twice then gave him a big back body drop. A northern lights suplex by Draven that was pretty much no sold. Draven had to check into a top rope sunset flip because of the recovery. They reversed pinning predicaments. A fisherman’s suplex only got Valentino a two count. Valentino put Draven on the top ropes. Draven knocked Valentino off then caught him with an enziguri. Valentino hit a good looking drop kick. Valentino went to the top rope but ignored Shields’ advice to pin Draven. A spring board drop kick knocked Valentino down. Draven fireman’s carry slammed Valentino near the ropes. Draven finished him with the 450 splash.

Analysis: Solid and deserved win by Draven. Sex Appeal has been in a funk and the announcers seemed to saddle Valentino with more of it, which they should. Draven now needs to find a feud to capitalize on Nash making him look good. It was a well wrestled match to boot. Score: +1.

Vic Travgliante interviewed Bryan Castle who was playing Angry Birds. Brian Bender was sitting beside him who took the phone away from Castle who then waved at the camera. Castle had a hard time remembering that he has been training and watching lots of tape. He hasn’t washed his lucky head band. Bender forced Castle into a match against Krimson. Bender told Castle he needed to listen to him. Castle hugged Vic hard enough to hurt him. Analysis: Not the best promo. I’d hope that Castle would start learning something from Bender at this point no matter how dumb they’re playing him. I’ll be grumpy until this story goes somewhere. Score: 0.

Krimson waited patiently in the ring while Castle high fived people around ringside. Bender was at ringside. Krimson attacked Castle when he went for a high five. Krimson was punching, strangling and kicking Castle. Krimson stuffed Castle’s lucky bandana into his mouth. Castle got mad. He forearmed Krimson into a corner, Irish whipped him into another then splashed him. A snapmare led to a low clothesline by Castle. Krimson tried to regroup on the outside but Castle went after him. Krimson turned the tide by throwing Castle into a ring post. Krimson kept slamming him against it. Krimson rolled Castle back into the ring. He continued the assault on the left shoulder. Krimson missed a splash. Castle gave Krimson a single leg drop kick. Krimson gave Castle a cobra clutch into a Stroke  then held onto the clutch. (Cool looking move.)

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 2

I posted hot twins for Episode 2 last year. I figured why not again.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire preview the show. “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine takes on “M Dogg 20” Matt Cross in the main event for the #1 Contendership for the PWO Title. Bobby Shields vs. “Omega” Aaron Draven and Krimson vs. Brian Bender is also on the card. The later match was first. Dombrowski informed us that Hobo Joe will be out indefinitely from the injuries last week. Krimson assaulted Bender before he could get to the ring. Krimson missed a charge on the outside. It allowed Bender to suplex Krimson on the floor. Bender tossed him into the ring. Krimson charged into the corner but got back elbowed. Krimson crotched Bender on the middle rope. Krimson fore armed Bender in the chest. Bender fought back with chops and punches. Krimson gave Bender the big boot then clothes lined him. Bender pulled Krimson off the top rope. Krimson head butted then low clothes lined Bender in the back of the head. A Witch’s Wheel got Krimson the victory. Kirst & Jason Gory came out to attack Bender. The baby face locker room empties to save Bender.

Analysis: Bender went a little too over board with his actions to me. Too deep of a knee bend when punching, attacking a little too woozy, that kind of a thing. Having Krimson get a win back after Wrestlelution over one of the bigger men in PWO was a good idea though. Krimson didn’t quite squash him but it was close. I like the locker room emptying earlier this week. So many times, another beat down happens and it just is bad logic to me. Once you know someone is going to carry out their threat, like the Dead Wrestling Society, you need to keep an eye on them and nip further assaults from happening. Score: +1.

The Sons of Michigan, Benjamin Boone & “Amazing” N8 Mattson, are going to take on Ben Fruith & Corey Winters before they take on Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick) .  Mattson bragged about them dominating the tag team division. He went on to say that even though Aeroform are from Michigan, they are the only ones to truly represent Michigan. Mattson said they out smarted Aeroform at Wrestlelution and they’ll do it again in the next match. Boone said something was on his mind and it was Ben Fruith because he won’t stay out of their business. Mattson said it was going to be too easy but then reminded us that Fruith stole the Wrestlerama Trophy from him and that he owes him one. “Hail To The Victors” is officially a catch phrase for them.

Analysis: Good promo for both of them. I wish Boone got a little more to sink his teeth into for his end but I’m not sure that was his fault. Score: +1.

Corey Winters & Ben Fruith are sitting back to back with the Wrestlerama Trophy behind them. They both say that each other has been friendless for too long and high five. Fruith said that he liked winning the trophy more at Wrestlelution than he did that first time over and he acted like he didn’t know. Winters “tagged in” and answered N8 Mattson. Winters said they are wrestling for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Fruith said that they’re going to bring an end to the Sons of Michigan’s reign. Analysis: On the one hand, that promo was completely gay. On the other hand, Winters & Fruith have characters for the first time ever. So it’s a wash. Score: 0.

Bobby Shields took on “Omega” Aaron Draven. Dombrowski noted that Shields wrestled in a grueling two out of three falls match last week. A shoulder block by Shields led to him posing. Shields punch Draven in the corner. Draven kicked Shields to the outside. Shields dropped Draven over the middle rope. A Neck breaker by Shields led to more posing. A neck cravat allowed Shields to knee Draven in the face. Draven rolled up Shields but only got two. Shields had a nice looking suplex. Shields missed on a third knee dropped. Draven drop toe holded Shields into the middle rope. Shields clothes lined Draven. Another cravat/knee combo led to a running high knee by Shields. Draven turned it out with three kicks. Draven hit a pair of leaping clothes lines then an enziguri which draped Shields on the middle rope. Draven sentoned him but only got a two count. Draven spine bustered Shields. A German Suplex by Shields only got a two count. A roll thru slam from the fire man’s carry position put Shields in the corner to take the 450 splash from Draven for the victory.

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 21

We all know who's winning the Champion vs Champion match tonight, right? To make sure click the read more button.

Joe Dombrowski hypes the TV champion Bobby Beverly against PWO Champion Jason Bane for the main event. Joe goes thru some smaller matches while Aaron Maguire sells the neck injury. “Late Night” Nicki Valentino takes on Ben Fruith in the opening night. They exchange some elementary moves. Fruith gave Valentino a hip toss and a pair of arm drags. Fruith air balled on a drop kick. A knee drop to the back got a two count. Fruith gets the boot as Valentino comes of the top rope with a double axe handle. Back slide only got Fruith a two count. Near fall for a Fruith Roll Up. Bobby Shields distracted Fruith. Valentino gets a chain and punches Fruith for the victory. Shields comes in and slapped around a prone Fruith.

Analysis: That match was not good. Valentino didn’t come near the boot Fruith put up. Fruith barely got Valentino over for the arm drags and appeared to both another move the Dombrowski helped to cover. Score: -1.

Krimson knocked on the camera and said that he delivered against Johnny Gargano. Krimson told Bane he was the last obstacle in the way of the Dead Wrestling Society’s complete dominance. He said the glass in the mirror breaks when he holds the PWO Title above his head at Wrestlelution. Analysis: Another good promo that left out the help he got against Gargano. Score: +1.

Aeroform is ready for Wrestlelution. Louis Lynden takes the lead says they’re stronger, faster and smarter than before. They respect Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe. They will not under estimate Brian Bender & Brian Castle. Aeroform can’t wait to get their hands on the Sons of Michigan. Flip said that they will survive and they’ll be next PWO Tag Team Champions. Analysis: Good work by them. It did make me think how the other first two teams do seem a bit over looked in this match especially after Dombrowski noted both the teams from Michigan. Score: +1.

Stunt Granny Interview Series: N8 Mattson

“Amazing” N8 Mattson (@AmazingN8 on Twitter) became my first guest for a round of wrestlers from Pro Wrestling Ohio. Mattson starts by recapping the history of his former lackey Ben Fruith and his current partner in the Sons of Michigan, Benjamin Boone. One half of the tag team champions then talks about the Sons of Michigan’s Tag Team Title defense in an elimination match against Aeroform (Flip Kendrick & Louis Lynden), The Homeless Handicapped Connection (Hobo Joe & Gregory Iron) and Brian Castle & Brian Bender at Wrestlelution 4: Overdrive, which is August 7th at Jacobs (Formerly Nautica) Pavilion in Cleveland, OH. Find out what he thinks of all of these teams and his star appearance on Man Vs. Food in Detroit and more.

N8 Mattson Interview

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 11

You've got to love the intestine liner.

Pro Wrestling Ohio decided to start with a replay of “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine slapping Justin LaBar after dropping the PWO Title to Jason Bane. Joe Dombrowski congratulated Bane but he quickly went to ripping on on Fontaine and apologizing to LaBar. Dombrowski said that Fontaine’s apology is coming next week. He said that no one should strike a fan and the fans shouldn’t strike the wrestlers.

Analysis: Solid way to cover your ass if you’re worried that a fan will do something dumb to a wrestler. Dombrowski goes over board with the indignation but that is the way of wrestling. Score: 0.

Dombrowski (after being backstage) is at ring side and introduces Vic Travagliante as his color man because Aaron Maguire is incapacitated. Sex Appeal vs. Aeroform is the main event to be the number one contender for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Benjamin Boone takes on Ben Fruith (Couldn’t be less excited) and Shima Xion takes on Matthew Justice to be in line for a TV Title match.

Xion versus Justice is immediately up. They both look to be in great shape. They talked about Krimson and his plans for the PWO Title. (I think he’s the only guy that matches up physcially with Bane so it’s a good choice.) They started with some basic moves and reversals. There were a couple of of botched moves. It led to Xion finally taking over the match.Xion suplexed Justice and only got two. He attacked frustrated then posed while hair spraying himself. Xion rolled through a sunset flip and kicked Justice in the chest. Xion gave Justiece a bear hug from behind.  Justice elbowed his way out then power slammed Xion but couldn’t capitalize. Justice did his best Cena impersonation. Xion locked in a cross face. Justice rolled out and gave Xion a Death Valley Driver. Xion kicked out at two. Xion turned a springboard into another cross face which forced the tap out. They hyped the main event again. (Enough already).

Analysis: Well, I mentioned Justice signing a WWE Developmental deal so I figure this win by Xion is a way to get someone over who’s sticking around. Xion has been good when he has been around which has been infrequently in the past. Let’s hope he sticks around because he can add something good to the roster. Good match outside of the pair of botched moves. Score: +1.

The Homeless Handicapped Connection (Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe) were telling Ben Fruith that they are his friends. Iron tells him he needs to be more aggressive. Hobo Joe told him to talk trash. Joe cuts a promo about how he’s going to slice open Benny Boone and put N8 Mattson inside of Boone. Iron told Fruith that he talked to the producers and Fruith is allowed to drop any words he wants to. Fruith then said he strongly disagrees with Mattson & Boone’s beliefs. Iron & Joe are disappointed but they tell him it’s a good start.
