#SippyTimeBeer Review – 21st Amendment, Magic Hat & Zauber

Magic Hat Elderberry

I had a couple of tasty beverages during Wrestlemania. I actually had a fantastic food and beer day. I’ll concentrate on the beer side of things though. We had dinner at their place so I had:

Magic Hat Brewing CompanyElder Betty – I’m not the biggest Magic Hat fan so I wasn’t sure if I should try this beer but it’s always worth trying especially when your neighbors are the ones who’d have to finish the rest of the six pack. It’s an Elderberry Weiss beer.  Considering that it was a busy and warm day, it was a perfect beer to start off with. I am really getting into the wheat beers. I wouldn’t be able to tell you what an Elderberry is or how it tastes. This beer though had just enough fruit in it to not be overwhelming. It’s definitely worth a try and you’ll need to do that soon because it’s a seasonal beer.

When we came back to my place to watch Wrestlemania, I had two more types of beers.

21st Amendentment

21st Amendent Brewing CompanyBitter American – I couldn’t resist the packaging when shopping earlier in the day. All of their art work was in this style. I love it. It reminds me of companies that use the same art style for all of their products. The first product I thought of was KMFDM’s album cover art. It’s an Extra Pale Ale and also called a Session Ale. On their site, they are very happy because of it’s low alcohol content. It doesn’t really bother me what the alcohol level is but I don’t think it’s something you trumpet. It is a tasty beer though. I think it has more hops than a normal pale ale. I like pale ales because of the lighter hops but it is balanced more than an India pale ale because of the malts that are used. This beer is one of their year round beers so it’s not a rush to grab it but if you like pales & IPAs, this beer is for you.

Zauber Brewing CompanyVertigo – There are a number of breweries that I like in Cbus. Two of them are well established, Columbus Brewing Company and Elevator Brewing Company. The other two are recently established, Four Strings and Zauber. I have steered away from the later two because their distribution is pretty limited. They are both in the same area but I go to Zauber more. They sell growlers Thursday-Saturday in the evening. They also have food trucks there on a regular basis along with rallies when the weather is really nice. I got to taste their new flavor Portergeist & Berzerker (IPA) but I decided to buy the Vertigo growler. After drinking a pale ale, it was another good switch. It is refreshing and has just some hints of clove & vanilla. I don’t get any of the banana flavor. It is extremely tasty although it isn’t my favorite beer from them. If anyone comes to Cbus, I will be sure to take them down there. Jeremy missed their opening by a month or two last year. If you’re lucky, the Ajumama Food Truck which is run by a fellow Kent Stater, will be there selling their Korean street food. It’s extremely tasty even when you try something new like pork belly. -Kevin

WWE blows chance to let tag titles earn two thin dimes, Epico & Primo win belts at house show

According to Prowrestling.net, Epico & Primo beat Evan Bourne & Kofi Kingston at Sunday’s WWE house show in Oakland, Calif., to win the WWE Tag Team Titles. For those of you who have been following along, Epico & Primo have defeated the now-former tag team champions numerous times on television, including WWE Tribute to the Troops, a December 2011 edition of Superstars, and other times I’m failing to recall because WWE doesn’t create any sort of importance with this title. Which leads me to…

… my idea for the tag titles that’s now shot all to hell. It’s funny, because I was actually thinking about this on the toilet Sunday morning: To put a little emphasis on this simmering feud, segment 3 of Raw this week could have seen Air Boom being introduced for a match, and Epico & Primo attacking them on the ramp. Replay replay replay, by which time the Os have returned backstage to be interviewed by Josh Mathews about their motives: “We’ve pinned them three times and still haven’t gotten a title shot!” Boom, done. How hard was that? That’s not to say WWE can’t make chicken salad out of this chicken shit; as I postulated in a previous article, WWE had cameras at this house show, footage from which they could show tonight, which would also feature the shiny new lighted stage! I’m peeing my pants with excitement as I write! Oops, better hold it, Bourne could use it to pass his next piss test. -Eric

Florence is where I learned to love wine.

Tonight is not a night for a #SippyTimeBeer because I’m making tomato sauce. Any time I cook a sauce or usually when I make any Italian dish, I bust out the wine for the night. Every now and again, event the fellows at Stunt Granny have some level of sophistication. They make a killer wine in Tuscany (Florence’s state) that is called Chianti that is a mix of grapes and is my favorite. I used a California wine called Menage a Trois which is pretty much the same thing since it’s a mix of Zinfandel, Merlot & Cabernet Sauvignon. Good stuff. And remember tomato sauces = red wine and cream sauces = wine white. Time for wrestling. Let’s roll.

Evidently the Rock can only film from the same mountain top. Rock turns down Cena’s offer. Rock is looking really ripped. Glad the WWE finally put up an “Earlier Today” sign. The Rock is teaming with him for the people. The crowd even realizes how anti-climatic this announcement is. What the hell is the director doing with the long shot that doesn’t even show the video? It doesn’t make fun of children who root for Cena. Naturally it’s a threat to Cena too.

CM Punk takes on Mark Henry. Glad they waited a whole week to show the ring being broken. I’m so glad I didn’t order that PPV. I like the look of concern on Punk’s face. Even as much as I love Punk, he better get the “I can see it miles away” interference from Big Show to win. Ricardo assaults Henry to try and get him the DQ. The director fucks up again by not showing Ricardo getting the World’s Strongest Slam. Nice way to stretch out an eventual match.

We are privileged to have the Rock on actual program in two weeks. The Muppets get interrupted by “Excuse Me”. Jack Swagger gets to suck. Kermit & Piggy might pull him out of this. Santino gets in on the act. It’s a train wreck. The guy working the Muppets show more emotion than Swagger. Kelly gets to flirt with Kermit.

During the commercials, Emmitt Smith was hocking some foot insert then I got a Don King commercial. Continue the ridiculousness. The Divas Battle Royal was “hilarious” with the costume run down before the match starts. Alicia Fox wins this thing since she won last week? Nope. Eve wins again. They threw that match together so I can see stretching this thing out. I like the idea of a threesome taking on Beth & Natalya. Christian picks on poor Beaker. Sheamus acts like they’re in the same family.

So Stacy Keibler is apparently dating George Clooney now

My eagle eyed eye in the sky from California sent me this article the other day, and since I will do anything to increase the number of hits to our site since I have no shame whatsoever when it comes to this stuff, I’mma present it the way it was sent to me, and oh look at the hotty boom body pictures:

George Clooney dating pro wrestler Stacy Keibler? Really?

Well, that didn’t take long.

George Clooney, who broke up with his Italian actress girlfriend of two years, Elisabetta Canalis, earlier this summer, was officially on the market for less than a month before former professional wrestler Stacy Keibler swooped down and staked her claim.

“It’s more than just a fling,” a pal of the 5’11” Keibler dishes to Us Weekly, adding that the lovebirds have known each other for “four to five years.” The pair enjoyed some quality time together at Clooney’s summer place in Lake Como, Italy in early July last month–and now, this past weekend at Clooney’s spread in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley.

Kiebler was photographed entering the gates of Clooney’s Studio City, CA compound on Sunday afternoon. As of Monday afternoon, Keibler had not been seen leaving the property.

The attraction between Clooney and Keibler seems to have been growing for a while. The pair met at an Oscar party in 2006 and became close after he admitted that he was a fan of her hoofing on “Dancing with the Stars.”

“It’s so funny,” Keibler told People at the time. “George Clooney came up to me, and he was like, ‘You’re so great. You should win.’ And I said, ‘You watch ‘Dancing with the Stars’?”

Keibler’s dance moves seem to have help her win Clooney’s heart. “They’re basically exclusive at this point,” says Keibler’s pal.

I personally do not care. I’m just like a crackhead here: I need more hits. More hits for this here website! In any event, my favorite Clooney role is, was and always will be Return of the Killer Tomatoes. My favorite Stacy moment was when she pointed out her legs go from here to there. That was very helpful of her. – Dusty
