Stunt Granny Audio #232

Get used to this.

Get used to this.

Oh my god, it’s that time again! Time for another Stunt Granny Audio, and this time hosted by none other than Kevin and Dusty. Dusty starts things off by talking about a vivid dream he just had that included Kevin and Jeremy. Why were they all in high school? Why were they all on a softball team? Why does Dusty want to kill Kevin’s imaginary girlfriend? They then move on to sports conversation, as Kevin has a lot to be happy about, what with his Pirates enjoying their first winning season in two decades and beating the Reds in the playoffs already. Dusty sidetracks quickly (mainly to mention that Bill Simmons is a moron), and Kevin laments the fact that historically all the Pittsburgh sports team cannot be good at the same time, thus the Steelers going 0-4 so far on the season. Dusty also hates Dusty Baker of the Reds, maybe more than Simmons.

Finally, they move on to wrestling talk. Dusty makes very little sense in enumerating the reasons why he prefers TNA to WWE right now. Kevin helps him in coming up with all the positive attributes of TNA right now, to help lessen the blow of the ridiculous current Dixie Carter storyline. They then move on WWE talk, where Dusty explains that he is tired of any and all involvement of any and all of the McMahon family, and that is what is holding him back from watching more WWE television right now. Kevin expresses concerns about Ryback, Daniel Bryan and his boy Dolph Ziggler. All that and a whole lot more, and you don’t even have to start a meth lab to afford to pay to listen to it!

The Guardian Did Age Progression on Dixie Carter

The Guardian Did Age Progression on Dixie Carter

Jeremy & Kevin are back in your ear holes. They start off by talking about Kevin’s awful trip into Pennsylvania this past weekend. If watching your team lose is bad, what makes it even worse? Kevin got two experience two different types of insult to injury during the Kent State and Pittsburgh Pirates game. They move on to talk about wrestling, specifically Raw. Did any of the story lines move along? Did that make the show bad? How bitter is Jeremy about the Chicago Blackhawks beating the Detroit Red Wings? Did this taint his evaluation of CM Punk’s promo? They weren’t surprised by the eliminations on during the 11 on 3 for the baby faces but they did break down the eliminations of the Shield members. Should the announcers had made a bigger deal out of Roman Reigns being pinned? Why was Seth Rollins the last one in the ring? Jeremy & Kevin move along to Jerry Jarrett’s take on Dixie Carter. Was he correct in his criticisms? Do you need to eat, sleep and breath wrestling to be successful? Did it help Jarrett succeed? Does he have anything in common with Carter? They segue into Dixie and her stellar acting going against AJ Styles. What built in storyline did TNA skip over to produce another heel authority figure? Should they have put over Magnus instead of Styles to avoid this angle? Is the Bound For Glory Series where TNA home grown stars go to die? Does it help Bobby Roode to be back in a team? Does anyone remember James Storm? Is TNA even wasting WWE talents like Jeff Hardy? We know some of these questions are easy to answer but we give them the analysis that you crave. Grab a #SippyTimeBeer, slap on the head phones and enjoy this romp through sports and wrestling.

Fox Sports Buys Sports Time Ohio. Will @PrimeWrestling Stick Around?

Fox Sports Ohio

A friend who works for Fox Sports sent out a link yesterday that said the Cleveland Indians were selling SportsTime Ohio to Fox Sports Ohio. As a fan of Prime Wrestling and MAC Sports both of which currently air on STO, I was concerned with how the transition would happen and whether my favorite wrestling organization would survive the cut. Sources have told me that Prime Wrestling will continue to air on STO and that they expect to extend and expand on this new relationship with Fox.

I would have to think that the relationship will be a positive for Prime Wrestling since STO has 2.8 million viewers while Fox reaches over 5 million viewers. Fox is packed with programming since they broadcast the Columbus Crew, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cincinnati Reds, ACC & A-10 basketball and Big East football & basketball. It would be easy for Fox to split the viewership into two for the state by turning STO into Fox Sports Cleveland and Fox Sports Ohio into Fox Sports Cincinnati. They may need to juggle some programs from one station to the other but it would be done easily. Now if only Kent State could keep a winning football coach, I’d be excited about watching more MAC football games on FS Cleveland. -Kevin

Kevin’s Blog: Definitely Live & Half Assed Review of Raw

In This Moment singer Maria Brink

Though Jeremy and I already planned on doing an audio tomorrow, I’m having a hard time not talking at least a little bit about last night. Wrestling as a whole has provided very few moments the past several years which I’m sure helped lead to the dismal 2.9 rating from last week’s Raw. The only two moments I can think of in the recent past are the Nexus invasion angled which was quickly bungled and the Rock’s first promo back on Raw. The Rock has bungled since then but because of his part time (at best status) he can’t sustain anything. What happened last night was and will continue to be a moment. It made CM Punk a true star. It gave him everything I feel he was valid in complaining about. I just hope they don’t bungle it. Let’s roll on time because of that moment.

Vince’s choice in suits gets more bizarre. Punk walked out on us. That’s what they’re going with? This moment is trying to be pissed on. Big surprise, they’re going to crown a new champion. That’s why Lawler bitching about Punk leaving made no sense last night. I love Del Rio’s fake hand around the brief case. I’m excited about my boy Dolph in this tournament and that’s it. Severe consequences for Cena. We’re supposed to forever remember tonight. You can’t top last night the following evening. Cole selling Cena’s comments on Twitter made it look so story line especially invoking the Rock match for next Wrestlemania.

Miz gets to wait during the commercial break for Riley. Why not save both entrances until after the break? Cole calls the Texas Clover Leaf a Sharp Shooter and he has the balls to call out Booker on Smackdown. What a twit. Riley getting put in his proper place. Not sure why Riley won the first two PPV matches to start with.

Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Raw

I started watching Raw really late.

I don’t act to reinvent the wheel around here but I hope that rolling some of my personal life will bring interest (positive or negative) to my column. I watched the Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Habs, Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning and Pirates against the Cincinnati Reds. All results went went my way tonight. Let’s hope that Raw treats me well. I’m watching with my skeptic buddy Sean so it’s a good time.

The questioning of R-Truth’s water is weird. Everyone in sports does it but for some reason it’s forbidden in wrestling. Weird. What is wrong with this shit? Sean questioning Morrison’s line of attack. I was thinking the same thing. Morrison is dying out there. R-Truth isn’t doing himself any favors. A match ensues and everyone is shocked, including me. What a weird start to Raw. Oh my gawd, they’re going to make this a gimmick? Water drinking?

The announcers bickering is awful. Starship Pain finishes a match much faster than I imagined. Does Morrison turn heel to help himself out? No, not after Truth attacking him. Truth could use not having the “What’s up?” gimmick. I started FFing thru the segment then saw Truth smoking and had to stop. Is this company turning into one giant PSA? How fucking weak.

I approve of the new look of my boy Dolph Ziggler (Obligatory Kent State reference.) Good win but I still wish Bourne would lose less.
