Stunt Granny Interview Series – @RickeyShanePage & @FairToAar of @PrimeWrestling

The Megalomaniacs started to take control of Prime Wrestling at Pressure Rising earlier this year. Part of that equation was bringing some new muscle in the form of Ricky Shane Page. This year at Wrestlelution 6: Art of War, Page will be taking on Bobby Beverly. At the announcers table or by his side, agent Aaron Maguire will be there. They combined their Megalomaniac powers on this interview. Luckily Dan & Kevin were up to asking the hard questions. How did Maguire meet Page? Why did Maguire bring Page into the Megalomaniacs? Kevin asks Ricky how it was to choke out Justin LaBar since he’s wanted to do it since LaBar joined then Pro Wrestling Ohio. Dan asks Maguire if he is worried about being assaulted at ring side since Page attacked Dombrowski earlier this year. Bobby Beverly has cost Page a pair of shots at the Prime Wrestling Title against Krimson. Does he want another shot at the title without interference? Is Johnny Gargano on his hit list since he has helped Beverly? The guys get around to asking Aaron how he feels about the other match ups that comprise the best of three series for the Prime Wrestling Commissionership. The matches are B.O.M.B. – the Brotherhood of Mustachieod Brawlers – team of Marion Fontaine & Jeremy Madrox against the Handicapped Hand Guns of Gregory Iron & Zach Gowen for B.O.M.B.’s Prime Tag Team Titles and Matt Cross taking on the man who stabbed him in the back, Matthew Justice for the TV Title. Will Marte Belle be a factor in the later match? Would Ricky be able to grow a mustache as good as Fontaine & Madrox? If the Megalomaniacs lose this series, do they have a back up plan? Will Maguire reveal that plan? Find out when you click on the link below!

Stunt Granny Interview Series – @BenjaminBoone1 of @PrimeWrestling

Two years ago, we had “Amazing” N8 Mattson for Wrestlelution 4: Overdrive. This year, we greet his partner in the Sons of Michigan, Benjamin Boone. Kevin & Dan get off to a rocky start with Mr. Boone because of Dan’s tardiness. We get around to asking the hard hitting questions when we talk about someone else who has angered Boone recently and that’s Jay Flash. What does Boone think about Flash’s one victory in three attempts? Was he expecting bigger challenges when he issued the open challenge that brought out Flash three straight times? Another one of his opponents at Wrestlelution 6: The Art of War is Aiden Veil. What are his strengths? The Sons of Michigan brought Bryan Castle into Prime Wrestling as an enforcer. What does Boone think now that he’s an opponent at Wrestlelution? Will they use his trade mark head band against him? Kevin & Dan do take time to address the write ups of the “lost” episodes of Prime Wrestling in which the Sons of Michigan complain about not being in the faction wars in Prime Wrestling. Will N8 Mattson & Boone add their tag team partner Bobby Shields to the Sons? What did he have to say about failed prospects like Ben Fruith and Zack Gowen? Do they have anyone else in mind? Not all secrets are that easy to pry away from Boone, but he does talk about the gloriousness that would be the Sons of Michigan reigning supreme over Prime Wrestling. #PrimeWrestling – Season 6 – Episode 14

Gregory Iron is on a road in a rural setting. The match between Gregory Iron and Matthew Justice had been a long time coming. They trained together and hit the roads together. Justice picked him up when he was down after a bad road trip. Iron is surprised by the way Matt Justice is acting by taking a short cut. Iron said that Justice’s reign as TV Champion will be cut short. Analysis: Interesting choice of locations. I guess it spoke to them riding the roads together. Good promo and a great way to tie the story together. Score: +1.

They start with TV Champ Matthew Justice coming out with Marti Belle. Zack Gowen comes out with Iron. They got off to a quick start. Iron was the first to get the upper hand. Justice yanked Iron off the second rope to switch the moment. Justice chopped at Iron. Justice got tossed off the middle ropes. A cross body block got Iron a two count. Justice caught Iron charging in, put him on his shoulders then slammed him. Iron fought out of a Death Valley Driver. Iron nailed Handicapped Parking. Justice kicked out. Marti Belle tried to slip Justice the cane. She distracted both Iron & Gowen. Justice picked up Iron and gave him the DVD for the win.

Analysis: Perfect heel win. Well wrestled match. The banter from Joe Dombrowski & Aaron Maguire about the Puerto Rican ambassador is hilarious because it’s a call back to past years that few would recall.  Score: +1.

Nicki Valentino wants to do something big. He runs into Bryan Castle. They’re following each other. Valentino is tired of Castle. He compares himself & Vic Travagliante to the great duos of all time. Valentino challenges Castle & his friends to a tag match. Valentino is going to choose his partner. Analysis: Both of the comic characters in one match. It was bound to happen. Let’s see how they go on their own finally. Score: +1.

Sassy Steph reintroduces herself. She has a beef with Marti Belle who claims that she is bringing women’s wrestling back to Prime. Steph name drops Madison Rayne because they started women’s wrestling in Prime. Marti can kiss her Sass. Analysis: Not the strongest reason to take on Marti Belle. Score: 0.

Benjamin Boone lays down his challenge. Jay Flash accepts for a third time. Boone berates him. Flash uses his speed to start the match off on top. Boone catches Flash when he dives on him on the outside. Boone goes for the Ron Simmons spine buster. Flash kicks out. Boone swatted Flash. Boone gets cocky. Flash rolls up Boone for the win. Boone snaps. Analysis: The announcers were laying it on thick so I knew the Flash win was coming. Expected him to take more of a beating before pulling it out. Score: +1.

Vic Travagliante is confident. Jeremy Madrox lays out their three stage plan. Justice runs down Zack Gowen & Gregory Iron. Ricky Shane Page said he was going to cripple Iron’s other arm, Gowen’s other leg & he’s going to pluck Gargano’s beard. Analysis: Solid stuff. First time I’ve liked Page. Sadistic but not over the top like previously. Score: +1.

Zack Gowen, Johnny Gargano & Gregory Iron are not going to lose their spirit or their hearts. Gowne said they won’t stop until the Megalomaniacs are out of power. Gargano says that they will not be held down because they have all felt adversity before. Analysis: Not as good as the heel’s but solid enough. Score: +1.

Nicki Valentino needs to find a partner. He doesn’t know who until a masked man comes out with coffee. Analysis: Um, sure. Score: 0. Matt Cross reminds us of his Tough Enough days. He can’t stand for the Megalomaniacs. He knows what he needs to do. Analysis: Pretty vague. Well delivered. Score: +1.

Gory came out before the commercial break. Michael “The Bomber” Facade was his opponent. Gory attacked while Facade was taking off his gui. Facade came up so that Gory tripped on him. It was planned and was pretty slick. Gory stomped on Facade’s foot. Gory head scissored Facade to the outside. Gory bit Facade’s head. They started brawling on the outside. Gory got bocci balled. Facade got pushed into a garage door when he tried to drag Gory back to the ring. Gory did slide Facade back in. Gory sling shot double stomped Facade. It only got a two count. Gory pounded away. Facade hulked up. Spin kick to the back of Gory’s head. Facade double atomic dropped Gory. Facade got two after a spring board moonsault. Facade chopped Gory in the back of the head. Gory countered into a Code Breaker. Huracanrana off the top rope by Facade. Jimmy Jacobs interfered. Gory took advantage and won. Jacobs punched away on Facade. Gory chased away Jacobs. He then boot washed Facade.

Analysis: This match up may have been their best to date. Both are taking less chances but still displaying athleticism. The end was an interesting twist that fits both Jacobs, who won’t take on Gory because he hasn’t been a problem, and Gory who is protective of the Dead Wrestling Society way. Score: +1.

Final Score: 8/10. Final Analysis: Prime seems to be getting their house back in order after a rough patch to start the season. Stories are shaping up. Wrestlelution is taking form and I still have one more episode to catch up on. There were a lot of little snippets in this episode but most did well with their limited time. -Kevin

#PrimeWrestling – Season 6 – Episode 12

Matthew Justice is taking on Michael “The Bomber” Facade for the TV Title at the top of the show. The highlight of the beginning of the match is the bickering between Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire. It was a slow start. Facade fancy arm dragged Justice out of the ring. Facade drop kick Justice into the guard rail. Justice dropped Facade neck first on the top rope. Facade head scissored Justice over. A big clothes line turned thing in Justice’s favor. Justice slammed Facade then hot dogged during the pin. Justice thought he threw Facade out of the ring but he held on to the top rope. Facade walked the top rope and drop kicked Justice. A pair of atomic drops by Facade was followed by a leg lariat. Justice gave Facade a face buster. Facade got tossed outside. Facade super kicked Justice. He got a two count from a spring board bulldog. Facade kicked Justice to the outside. Facade nailed a spring board 360. Marti Belle low blowed Facade. Justice gave Facade a top rope DVD. Justice is the new TV Champion. They kiss in the ring.

Analysis: This match was solid but not great. Facade still tries to do too much. Justice looked rusty. It didn’t help that Dombrowski pointed out how little he has wrestled since coming back to Prime Wrestling. Score: 0.

Bobby Beverly wanted to explain why he is supporting Johnny Gargano and Prime Wrestling against all of these factions. He gives a good defense of Prime promo. Analysis: Much better than his “Man of the earth” promos. Score: +1.

Bryan Castle is taking on JJ Deville, who weighs 165. Deville goes for the head band. Castle splashes him in the corner. Deville fires back but doesn’t phase Castle. Backpack chin jacker is the winner for Castle. Analysis: It was what it was supposed to be, a squash match. Interesting finisher for a big guy though. Don’t you follow up with a splash to reinforce your size? Score: +1.

Gregory Iron & Zack Gowen pound on some doors. Gowen explains that they are locked out. They are going to overcome the obstacle of locked doors like they have with every other challenge in their lives. Iron said that they’re going to come back stronger than ever. Gowen saves they’re going to save the company or die trying. They go back to kicking the door. Analysis: The door pounding parts were cheesy in a bad way. The promos were good though. Score: +1.

Nicki Valentino is taking on Aiden Veil. I’m not liking Late Night’s chances. Veil worked over Valentino’s left arm with various moves. Veil double chopped Valentino. Nicki took over with axe handles to the back. Valentino choked Veil while he distracted the ref. Nice. Veil slammed Valentino from the top rope. Veil got a two count from a bulldog. Veil gave Valentino a modified White Noise. Valentino gave Veil the old trick knee. Valentino follwed with a DDT. Valentino bragged to the camera. Veil rolled up Valentino for the win.

Analysis: Good match up. Veil is on his way up. He had a good showing in his tag match and his singles bouts. Valentino is filling his role well. Score: +1.

Marion Fontaine came to the ring to interrupt what the opening of the show. Fontaine was out there to taunt Zach Gowen with his own cane. Gowen got in early offense. Gowen rolled him up for the three count. Fontaine attacked Gowen after the match. Gowen got the upper hand. Vic Travagliante came out and tossed Gowen from the building. Security escorted him out.

Analysis: The match was good. I’m not a fan of the baby face getting the upper hand already though. Vic and company just took over. They need to look dominant for at least a show. Several shows would be much better. Score: 0.

N8 Mattson came out for a match. Bobby Beverly was his opponent. They exchanged basic moves. Mattson went to the outside after an enziguri. Beverly kicked Mattson in the chest while on the apron. Mattson gained control with a jaw jacker. Beverly chopped Mattson. A running leg lariat by Mattson led to a reverse chin lock. Beverly elbowed out but ran into a knee. Mattson got two after a leg drop. Mattson missed a corner splash. Beverly fired away. Beverly nailed a kick to the face. Beverly got two from a back breaker. Mattson lawn mowered Beverly from the ropes. Beverly gave Mattson a power slam like flap jack. Beverly super kicked Mattson for the win.

Analysis: Beverly turned it up at the end of the match but it wasn’t his best performance. I’m still not a fan of his “Salt of the Earth” and “Regular guy” gimmick. Bleck. Score: 0.

Johnny Gargano gave us a history lesson on Prime Wrestling. He is most proud of his championship in Prime Wrestling. Gargano said Prime is like his family. He said him and others like Gregory Iron and Matt Cross make this league what it is. He is pissed at both the Dead Wrestling Society and the Megalomaniacs. Gargano isn’t going to sit back. He told us that Matt Cross had to go home to clear his head. Gargano asked for someone to join this lop sided fight. He said the war begins next week. Analysis: Good stuff out of this guy as usual. Not sure how he isn’t in TNA or the WWE. Score: +1.

Because Zach Gowen was thrown out earlier tonight, the tag team championship was a handicapped match. Gregory Iron took on Marion Fontaine & Jeremy Madrox. They tried to attack Iron but he turned it around on them. Iron sling shotted on Fontaine & Madrox on the floor. Madrox held Iron back from getting back into the ring. Fontaine took advantage by super kicking him. Madrox & Fontaine took turns hammering on Iron. He countered a move into head scissors. Iron DDTed Fontaine but he wasn’t legal. Fontaine & Madrox did a side slam & leg drop combo. Fontaine tossed a belt to Madrox. He missed Iron but distracted the ref so that Fontaine could nail him with the other belt. Fontaine & Madrox won the tag team titles. Vic Travaglainte tossed Gregory Iron from the building.

Analysis: I liked the victory but it was almost the complete opposite of the opening match. They over killed how they needed to beat Gregory Iron. It’s two on one to start with. It’s been done that way before but I think it makes the heel look too weak. They organized & executed the match well. Vic tossing everyone he doesn’t like is a good idea. I hate heel commissioners who keep people around. Make your life easy, toss the thorns in your side. Score: +1.

Vic Travagliante got a formal introduction from Pedro De Lucca. Vic told us that we’re all welcome for being in the presence of him. Vic invited Justin LaBar down to the ring. He is going to be Vic’s assistant. Vic sent LaBar to the back to clean their bathroom. Matt Justice is mad because no one ever talked about him. He said he isn’t a Megalomaniac but he’s with them. He has a match for the TV Title. Justice goes to the back to see his signing bonus. Vic orders Krimson down to the ring. Vic tells them to join forces. All he has to do is give Vic the Prime Championship. Vic tells Krimson he’ll be his worst nightmare. Kirst & Gory come out for the save. And they stop the show.

Analysis: So are they turning the Dead Wrestling Society baby face? It’ll be interesting to see if Gargano ends up joining forces with the DSW to rid them of a larger problem. I’m no fan of evil commissioners so this one will be tough to follow. LaBar being the put upon lackey isn’t going to make matters any better. Matt Justice leaving out his own departure to the WWE should be a point brought up later so hopefully Cross will get the chance to reply. Score: 0.

Final Score: 2/5. Final Analysis: I was warned of this episode by both Dan and Jeremy. It lived up to the disappointment. The show cut too early. The lighting wasn’t great. The sound wasn’t the best. Evil commissioners blow. -Kevin

#PrimeWrestling – Pressure Rising Interviews

Prime Wrestling decided to do review shows from their iPPV on regular TV. I won’t review the matches since I already did that here. They didn’t show the matches in their entirety but they showed the ends to all of the matches. I’m not a fan especially since they were still shilling the iPPV. DJ Korey was our host.

“Amazing” N8 Mattson was the first interview by Courtney, who really needs a microphone even if it doesn’t work. Mattson said that he was looking for real competition not a comedian like Bryan Castle. He said that even Castle’s mother is ashamed of him. Mattson said he’d amaze Castle tonight with his victory. Bryan Castle did his promo solo. He said he hasn’t had much luck with partners starting with Mattson, Brian Bender or Bat Dan Arkham. He said his luck was going to change tonight. Analysis: Mattson had a decent showing but not one of his better ones. Castle needs to get a new direction. I’m going to keep beating that drum for a while.

Courtney interviewed Marti Belle who interrupted her introduction. Belle left New York just to come here. At the end day, she said she’s number one. Belle said it in Spanish first. I think she had a Dominican Republic baseball jersey on. Melissa was new to Prime Wrestling. She was with Jessie Kaye. Jessie doesn’t think Belle knows what she’s getting into. Kaye wants to annihilate her. Analysis: These women are opposites. Kaye is great on the mic, terrible in the ring. Marti is terrible on the mic, great in the ring. Courtney needs to look more interested & Melissa was so over the top. They’ve got some work to do but it’s early.

Bobby Shields was in the locker room. He has suffered through a lot of pain. Shields said that most men would go into a depression if they went through what he did. Now that he lost his hair, he’s lost everything that was important to him so he’s dangerous because he’s lost it all. Shields told Nicki Valentino to side with him. Bobby Beverly wanted to put an end to Sex Appeal for good. Beverly said he’d kick off Shields head and if Valentino didn’t go to his side, he’d do the same to him. Nicki Valentino was “squatting” 360. He said it’s a big night for him. He decided to buy one fanny pack for each of them. Valentino said he’ll make his intentions perfectly well known by the end of the night. Analysis: I liked Shields promo even if it was rehash material for the most part. Beverly had no substance. Valentino’s promo was good and really should have been aired before the PPV or during it. I don’t think Aaron Maguire or Joe Dombrowski adequately covered Valentino’s promise. The setting for his promo was a little odd. 360 doesn’t seem unreasonable to squash but he clearly wasn’t doing one then when the camera’s arrived.
