#SippyTimeBeer Review

Victory_Stoudts_Left Hand

To absolutely no one’s surprise, I will be going to the Columbus Winter Beerfest tomorrow. I’m hitting it with my lovely lady who is going to be the designated driver for myself and my neighbors. There will be 60+ breweries on hand with a selection of 300+ beers. It’s not quite the Great American Beer Festival in Denver but I’m sure it’ll be a good time. I won’t put all of those beers into one post but I will stockpile some information. On to what I had recently.

Victory Brewing CompanyPrima Pils – I have had good beers from Victory. This one was not one of them. It’s a pilsner that tastes, well, like a pilsner. You could do worse than buy this one. I’d take it over a Beck’s or Grolsch but not a Heineken or Warsteiner. Here’s TheFullPint review which is about as lengthy as mine.

Stoudt’s Brewing CompanyOktober Fest – This beer is an amber lager so it should be in my wheel house but it wasn’t my favorite Oktoberfest beer that I’ve had in the past twelve months. It was better and smoother than the Prima Pils but it didn’t have much more punch than it. I didn’t taste much of the sweetness or the hops that they say are in there. I’m not a hops guy so while I will drink IPAs, I tend to steer away from them. Maybe the hops was hitting me and I didn’t realize it. TheFullPint review.

Left Hand Brewing CompanyMilk Stout Nitro – This beer was my favorite of this batch. I love Guinness, especially when you get to drink it at the Brewery in Dublin, Ireland. I’ll save the rest of that story for later. I mention Guinness because I would call this an American version thereof. It has that nice rich taste but has a touch of sweetness from the milk. I’d venture a guess that they use condensed sweetened milk. This drink has a widget of nitro just like Guinness too so you have to wait for it to settle. It is worth the wait. I drank it at as fast as a stout can be drank. Highly recommended. TheFullPint review. -Kevin

Mick Foley, who loves the word “I,” returns to WWE at house show in “I”reland… coincidence?

"Hey Rock, can I piggy-back off your return for a while?"

According to Prowrestling.net, Mick Foley made his triumphant, glorious, grandiose, fit-for-a-major-star return to WWE… at a house show in Ireland yesterday. Follow the link to a video of Foley’s comeback promo, where he goes through his usual schtick of name-dropping someone (in this case, Vince McMahon), alluding to being treated like a god among men (WWE is his “playground,” but I’d wager that a ride on the teeter-totter with him wouldn’t be fair), and then going for the cheap pop by mentioning Dublin by name. It’s like the old saying goes: The more things change, the less Mick Foley changes his clothes. -Eric

Everyone was walking away from HHH on Raw. Does that mean there won’t be any Smackdown? Eric and Kevin don’t answer that question but they do talk about what the walk away enabled HHH to claim. Does this mean he just likes the spot light or is there something more than meets the eye? They started from the beginning of Raw though. Do Drew McIntyre and John Morrison have something in common? Which one dropped further down the depth chart? The duo moves on to talk about the heels and their law suit. The biggest talking point is the quality of some very short promos. Is a David Otunga 110% promo worth a 50% Christian promo? Does Dolph Ziggler stand out at all? Is Vickie Guerrero still the Queen of Heat? And which legendary valet does Eric compare her to? The boys finish the talk while going over the main event match that spanned two commercial breaks. Was the talent used correctly? Who got screwed for TV time? And find out whether The Great White is a racial slur or just a tease to get you to click on the link below!

Chaos In Ireland

Peep this right naaaw, from Jason Powell:

WWE star Mark Henry was arrested and issued an “adult caution” following an incident that occurred at The Hilton in Belfast, Ireland last weekend. “I was trying to get as many signatures as possible on the card and my collectors book,” WWE fan James McClay  told the Derry Journal. “Mark Henry was abusive and ignorant but I got his signature and walked away. Suddenly he threw a drink around me from behind.

“I turned around to see him stand and square up to me, suddenly John Cena and Randy Orton grabbed his arms and held him back. I honestly thought I was in one of the plot lines back stage. I felt like I was watching this happen to someone else. Suddenly Chavo Guerrero piped up egging Mark Henry on, that really annoyed me as I am a fan of his. I thought this is going to get really bad as all these wrestlers were on their feet.” To read the full story, visit DerryJournal.com.

Powell’s POV: The story also notes that McClay attended WrestleMania 26 and intends to get married at WrestleMania 27 next year. He also claimed that the drink Henry threw soaked him, his fiancee, and the birthday card. It’s important to note that we’ve only heard the fan’s version of the story. Thanks to Dot Net reader Martin Caldwell for passing along the story.

I’m supposed to feel bad about some dude who is getting married at WrestleMania? Yeah sure, I’ll get right on that… – Dusty
