@Prime Wrestling – Season 5 – Episode 17

Because of the craziness of my life recently, I’ve taken way too much time to review this episode. For that, I apologize. I want to do an audio about the re-launch but Dan and I haven’t been able to get together. Hopefully, after this review gets posted, we can do that. On with the review.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. Matt Cross is defending the Prime Wrestling Title against Jimmy Jacobs. We’re also getting a tag team match pitting Daniel Arkham & Bryan Castle against Bobby Beverly & Nicki Valentino. Benjamin Boone is taking on Izaiah “Mr. RBI” Bonds. Kirst came out crawling on his knees. He scared kids by yelling at them when he took off his hood. Gregory Iron was his opponent. They knelt down across from each other. Iron clothes lined Kirst into the corner while the ref was checking his boots. Iron gave him a top rope cross body. Iron connected on a suicide dive.  Iron tossed him back into the ring. Iron nailed a top rope elbow but only got  a two count. Kirst used Iron’s momentum against him and whipped him in a corner hip toss style. Kirst had a rear chin lock on Iron. A head scissors take over slowed down Kirst who stopped Iron with a shoulder block and a standing double stomp. He only got a two count. Iron connected with a pair of clothes lines & a back elbow. Iron gave Kirst a running forearm in the corner. Iron gave Kirst a Destabiler. Kirst gave Iron a super kick. He then gave Iron a German suplex. Iron jaw jacked Kirst. He then no sold all of Iron’s offense. Kirst locked in a Coji clutch. Iron fought out then got put right back into it. Iron never tapped so the ref had to stop it. Kirst locked it in again after the victory. He attacked him a second time after the bell.

Analysis: Good match. They put over Kirst really well. The announcers talked about Iron needing help. I would imagine Jason Bane or Matt Mason will help him fight the Dead Wrestling Society. So Iron losing now is setting him up for winning even if it’s with a tag team partner. Score:+1.

Michael Facade told Gory that he was a coward. He said he was getting better with every match. Facade said the TV Title was a passion that he’s been fighting for for two years. Facade is going to ask for one more match. He wants to have the stipulation that the belt changes hands on a DQ but if he loses, he can’t go after the TV Title any more. Analysis: I could use a little more pep from him but it’s an improvement from the last time I saw him. Score: 0.

Sex Appeal, Nicki Valentino & Bobby Beverly came out. Jimmy Jacobs made Valentino the leader of their tag team. Dan Arkham & Bryan Castle were second. Valentino starts out against Castle. Valentino tries a go behind. Castle raised Valentino up with a wrist lock. Arkham came in with an elbow off the top rope. Beverly tagged in. Valentino kicked Arkham in the back. Beverly gave him a clothes line. Valentino & Beverly bicker a little bit. Beverly suplexes Arkham. Valentino kicked him in the ribs. Beverly is supposed to hit a held Arkham. Beverly almost punches Valentino but hold up. They bicker which allows Castle to tag in. Castle double clothes lined them. Castle gave Valentino a gut wrench suplex (Old school!) Beverly gave Castle an enziguri then a super kick. Valentino made the pin. Beverly acted pissed after the win.

Analysis: The announcers made it sound like a stolen match but it wasn’t. Valentino was the legal man in the match, so Beverly helping out should just be doing it for his team. Beverly shouldn’t be mad. It furthers the split angle but it was dumb. Match was well wrestled for the most part. Score: 0.

Gory told us that he’s holding the TV Title hostage. He said it just shows the Dead Wrestling Society’s grasp on Prime Wrestling. Gory claimed he didn’t need a DQ to keep the title. He is excited about destroying him one last time. Analysis: He just seems more put on than the other two int he group. He doesn’t have a weird cadence, he wasn’t forceful and he just doesn’t feel genuine. Score: -1.

@PRIMEwrestling – Season 5 – Episode 16

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. Jason Gory is going to defend his TV Title against Michael “The Bomber” Facade. Jason Bane will be taking on Bobby Beverly. Jimmy Jacobs is starting the show against “Omega” Aaron Draven. Pedro De Lucca introduced Jacobs as the “Zombie Princess”. Jacobs pounded away on Draven. Aaron took over Jacobs with head scissors but he came back with a clothesline. Jacobs gave Draven a running shoulder block in the corner. Jacobs put Draven in the Tree of Woe and kicked away at him. Jacobs gave Draven a neck breaker. Jacobs tossed Draven outside the ring and gave him an elbow off the ring apron. Jacobs tossed Draven into the guard rail. Jacobs pulled a spike out of his boot and used it while shielding the referee. Draven DDTed Jacobs on the ring apron thru the ropes. Draven clothes lined him. Jacobs kicked out after an enziguri. Draven missed a 450 splash. Jacobs speared him then gave him a double arm DDT for the win.

Analysis: The announcers did a good job of putting over Draven since he’d been on a winning streak for just over a year. The match was good. Both of these guys can go and they delivered. I think they could put on a better match but they needed to prove Jacobs to the Prime crowd. I wouldn’t argue if they had a feud at some point. Score: +1.

Vic Travglainte was with Bryan Castle. Vic asked him where Brain Bender has been. Castle has no answer to that question. Castle said that he needed to find a hero, it is Dan Arkham. Castle said that he was impressed with Arkham’s knowledge of Batman. Castle thinks that he’s Batman. Vic tried to talk him out of it. Castle left singing the old Batman theme as Vic shook his head. Analysis: Funny segment. Castle sold his belief in Arkham despite the craziness of claim. Vic was a good foil. Score: +1.

Kirst was sitting in front of a white picket fence because it’s the symbol of the American Dream. He told Gregory Iron he never saw it because his mom would have sold it for crack. Kirst said he found his family. Kirst told Iron he needed to accept himself for who he is. Analysis: Good stuff. Plastic white picket fences suck though. Wood ones aren’t much better. Score: +1.

Bobby Beverly was taking on Jason Bane as punishment from Jimmy Jacobs since Beverly didn’t deliver Matt Cross to Jacobs. Bane used his power to his advantage. Bane suplexed Beverly who rolled to the outside. Bane slammed Beverly but he pinned him weakly. Beverly gave Bane an enziguri. Beverly gave him three clothes lines. Beverly missed with a running boot. Bane ran at him but Bane got low bridged to the outside. Beverly gave Bane a senton from the apron. Bane picked up Beverly and slammed him into a corner. He gave Beverly several shoulder blocks. Bane belly to belly overhead suplexed Beverly. Bane gave him a spine buster. Beverly elbowed out of an F5. He tossed Bane chest first into the turn buckles. Beverly locked in a sleeper. Bane backed Beverly into a corner. Beverly took out Bane’s knee. Beverly chopped Bane. Bane caught Beverly trying to hop over him. Bane finished him with an F5. Bane gave Beverly a stare of respect.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 14

Who got made fun of for their body odor?

Joe Dombrowski & Aaron Maguire introduce the show. Jason Bane vs Krimson is the main event in a No DQ contest. Jimmy Jacobs will be in action against Gregory Iron. Johnny Gargano will respond to Jacobs later. Jacobs is introduced first. Iron sneak attacks Jacobs to jump start the match. Iron clotheslines him twice. He back elbows Jacobs. Iron with a head scissors take over. He clotheslined Jacobs in the corner and brings him out with a bulldog. Jacobs turns it around with a jaw jacker. Iron low bridges Jacobs. Iron gets caught going for a suicide dive. Jacobs dropped a leg drop on Iron who was hanging on the apron. Jacobs tossed him into the guard rail. Jacobs set up Iron in a chair. Jacobs went into the ring and hit him with a 180 plancha. (Yes, he hit him with his back. It looked pretty awkward.) Jacobs tossed Iron back into the ring. Jacobs double stomped him from the mat then used the ropes to drop an elbow. Iron kicked out at two. Jacobs slammed and rubbed Iron’s face into the mat. Jacobs head butted him. (That doesn’t seem like the right arsenal for a small guy.) Jacobs dropkicked Iron who was seated in a corner. He only got a two count. Iron caught Jacobs charging in. A back elbow and clothes line mounted a comeback for Iron. Jacobs kicked out after a spring board elbow. Iron gave Jacobs a neck breaker. Jacobs slammed down Iron as he came charging into the corner. Jaw breaker to the knee by Iron. Jacobs speared Iron. Jacobs DDTed him for the victory.

Analysis: The crowd seems unsure of Jacobs. It’s the same one that basically shit on his reveal. It was a good match. Jacobs does a lot of nice little things right trying to rile up the crowd. These guys are about the same size so the match up is a credible and re-visitable one. Score: +1.

Jason Gorey told Michael Facade to stop chasing the TV Title. He said that Facade should channel his anger to accomplish more. Gorey said that the title is meaningless. They only need one more. Analysis: They were trying to give him a different vibe than Krimson by doing horizontal bars that were stretching the picture like an old 80’s TV. I wasn’t a big fan. I like the effort though. Gorey’s content needed something else. Maybe more of a reason to keep the belt away from Facade. More anger because Facade is being such a persistent do gooder. Score: 0.

Michael “The Bomber” Facade gave a shot out to the injured Flip Kendrick. Facade said that something always snatches victory from his grasp. He said that every loss makes him want it more. Facade said that he will not give up. He says Gorey forgot what that title stands for, respect, heart, honor and passion. Facade said that Gorey may be twisted, but he’s still the one creeping while he’s sleeping. Facade smiled and put up his bandit mask. Analysis: Solid promo. He had more reasons to go against Gorey and why he wanted to win. Score: +1.

Mr. RBI Isiah Bonds is taking on Daniel Arkham for their third match. RBI missed a charge. Arkham jumped on him with punches and a clothesline. He tried to slam RBI but he reversed it.RBI kicked Arkham in the back. RBI with a back suplex. He only got a two count. Arkham went for a sunset flip, but couldn’t get RBI over. RBI sat down but missed. Arkham drop kicked him while he was seated. Arkham got caught going for a cross body. RBI turned it into a swinging side slam. Arkham reversed the cover but only got two. RBI missed a splash. Maguire would not stop talking about how bad Arkham smelled. He even got Dombrowski to snicker at one point. Arkham got tossed into a corner then caught RBI charging in. Arkham skinned the cat to get up to the top rope. RBI crotched him. RBI was trying to javelin Arkham but got pushed into the corner. Arkham rolled him up and got the three count.

Analysis: Can RBI only take bumps in the corner? The match was better than their other ones so I’ll be generous. Score: 0.

Matt Cross admitted that Bobby Beverly took him to the limit last week. He told Beverly that he has a bright future. Cross put over both Jason Bane and Krimson as some of the toughest in wrestling. Cross would be honored to take on Bane because he was there when he started the business and helped Cross get started. Cross said that they have never wrestled. Cross said that dreams are not a waste of time. Cross said that he earned his dreams. Cross said that he didn’t waste the last ten years of his life. Cross said that he’s not going down without a fight no matter who wins their match up. Analysis: He stumbled a bit when he started talking about Krimson but closed the deal quite well. Score: +1.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 13

This makes your review pointless.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. Matt Cross defends the PWO Title against Bobby Beverly. “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine takes on Corey Winters. Bobby Shields with Nicki Valentino kicks the show off against Bryan Castle who didn’t have Brian Bender. The ref did the old school pat down. Shields starts with punches. Castle hip tossed Shields three times. Castle slammed him. Castle waved at Valentino. Shields attacked him from behind on the floor. Shields missed a chop and hit the post. Castle started to attack the hand. Valentino held Castle’s leg so that Shields could attack again. Shields kneed Castle in the gut. Shields choked him. Shields missed a splash. Castle put on the head band and clotheslined Shields. Castle drop kicked him. Shields got splashed. Castle low clotheslined him. Valentino distracted the ref. Shields kicked Castle in the face. He only got a two count. Shields got tossed over the rope and noggin knocked with Valentino. Castle tried to suplex Shields back into the ring but Valentino grabbed his leg. Shields countered into a splash and Valentino held the legs for the three count.

Analysis: Really good match up. Well wrestled and well executed. It protects Castle but Shields gets the win. Well done sirs. Score: +1.

Krimson tells Jason Bane that Wrestlelution was not going to be their last meeting. He says he’s been in a no DQ match with Bane and he knows what’s coming. Krimson said he learned from his mistakes and will not repeat them. Krimson tells Matt Mason to walk away before he drowns in a sea of misery and despair. Analysis: I’m just digging this dude right now. Really thoughtful evil promos. Score: +1.

Jason Bane states the stipulations in the match. He says that if he needs to become a monster to beat Krimson and will do it. Bane promises to become the most brutal of them all. Analysis: It’s a tough spot. I thought it got the point across but he followed Krimson so it feels worse than it should. He’s just not that great at mic work but Bane has improved. Score: +1.

Matt Mason said that he can’t get a response from him. Mason said that he’s going to get a hold of Krimson. Mason is calling him out on his sickness. Mason said he’s tired of Krimson trying to crush other people’s dream. Mason said that if Krimson can’t stop his own sickness, he will. Analysis: He could have used a little more pep to really nail this thing but he needs to pivot to more than an observer at this point. This promo seemed pointed that way. Score: +1.

Marion Fontaine came out first. Corey Winters tried to hype up the crowd. (They need the last venue back.) Fontaine primps to the crowd. They tied up in the corner. Fontaine broke clean. Winters backed Fontaine into the corner. He broke clean too. Winters arm dragged Fontaine and held him down with an arm bar. Dombrowski zinged Maguire. Fontaine kneed Winters. Corey yanked on Fontaine’s arm. Fontaine flipped out of the arm bar but bragged so Winters yanked on his arm multiple times. Winters flipped him onto his back. Fontaine didn’t get enough air for a leap frog. Fontaine drop kicked Winters. They redid the spot. Fontaine went for a monkey flip but Winters pulled his legs backwards and Irish whipped him. Winters super arm dragged him out of the ring. Winters nailed a cross body to the floor. Fontaine rammed Winters into the guard rail. Fontaine tossed him back into the ring. Fontaine yapped to the crowd from the apron. Winters grabbed the injured left arm but Fontaine jumped backwards. Fontaine started to work over Winters left arm. Fontaine punched him. Fontaine chin locked Winters. Winters fought out. Fontaine basement drop kicked Winters. Fontaine kicked Winters to the mat. He over shot a moonsault as noted by Dombrowski.  Winters punched him. Winters nailed an enziguri. Winters hit a Cutter. He only got a two count. Fontaine kicked Winters in the face charging into a corner. He followed it up with a super kick. Fontaine missed a spring board. Winters hit a stomach buster. He went for Sliced Bread #2 but Fontaine ducked under and held the tights for the three count. Justin LaBar orders the match restarted because of said held tights. Winters rolls up Fontaine while holding the tights which he should have seen but Dombrowski said he had turned around. Fontaine assaulted Winters after the match. Fontaine yelled at LaBar. Fontaine says he wants the tapes.

#PWOWrestling – Season 5 – Episode 11

I wonder if the Dead Wrestling Society will ever have to worry about Ash.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. The Dead Wrestling Society (Jason Gorey, Kirst & Krimson) take on Gregory Iron, Michael “The Bomber” Facade and Jason Bane. Marion Fontaine is seeking answers since his leg was under the rope when he got pinned by Matt Cross last week. The show opens with Bobby Beverly taking on Johnny Gargano. Gargano is introduced second and hits the ring running. Beverly catches Gargano with a kick before he can hit a suicide dive. Beverly tried to kick Gargano from the apron but whiffed. Gargano pulled his legs out from under him and nailed a running senton from the apron. Gargano tossed Beverly into the guard rail then back into the ring. Maguire does a great job of mocking the rematch between Isiah Bonds and Daniel Arkham later this hour. Gargano caught Beverly with a boot in the corner. Beverly used the ref as a shield and yanked Gargano off the middle rope. Beverly got a two count after an enziguri. A suplex by Beverly leads to a reverse chin lock. Beverly tossed Gargano into the corner chest first. Beverly thrusted again after a belly to back suplex. Beverly clotheslined Gargano. He caught him with another one after a roll up. Gargano double legged Beverly after more celebrating. Beverly slammed Gargano into the guard rail then tossed Gargano back into the ring. Gargano super kicked Beverly coming off the top rope. Beverly kicked Gargano in the gut. Gargano power bombed Beverly after he tried for a head scissors take over. Beverly tried to leave the match but Gargano dragged him back to the ring. Beverly DDTed Gargano as he tried to get back into the ring. Gargano gave Beverly an enziguri. Beverly pumo kicked Gargano. They traded super kicks. Beverly pinned Gargano for two after a urinogi back breaker. Gargano drop kicked Beverly. The ref got elbowed by Beverly. Gargano nailed Uniquely You but the ref was still down. The ski masked attacker nail Gargano with a 2×4. Beverly super kicked Gargano. The ref recovered. Beverly pinned Gargano for the victory. Bobby Shields took off the mask and said he wasn’t the masked man. Shields said that it wasn’t anyone in Sex Appeal. He said that when he gets here, Gargano’s life in PWO will be forever changed.

Analysis: A really good back and forth match. Some of the exchanges seemed to happen a bit too quickly for my taste but it was all well executed. It’s a good victory to get Beverly. He looked dominant most of the match so it didn’t feel as fluky even with Shields interference. Shields mic was not the best. Dombrowski covered for it though and the big parts of it came through clear. Score: +1.

Marion Fontaine had a camera with him when he went to confront Justin LaBar who was talking to Vic Travagliante. LaBar said he made a mistake but Fontaine was out. LaBar said he could have counted well over three. Fontaine said that it was fixed from day one just like he’d been saying. Fontaine said that LaBar is hurting the PWO product. LaBar acted like a beaten dog. LaBar asked what Fontaine wanted. Fontaine said he needed the camera out of there. Analysis: I say it when it happens in ROH, TNA or WWE so PWO isn’t exempt. I hate employee who somehow have management’s balls. You’re a fucking employee. You have jack for leverage. The most he should be able to do is get another match. They played their parts well enough. Score: 0.

Krimson quotes John Keats about beauty being truth. He said that Matt Moore is one of the beautiful people. Krimson said his life was beautiful once but it turned into a nightmare. He warned Moore about trying to step into his realm. Krimson said that he is acting with compassion once to warn Moore because he loves nothing more than smashing something beautiful. Analysis: That gets listed in best promos of the year so far. He showed vulnerability by being compassionate with his warning but still is ready to fight. Score: +2.

Mr RBI Isiah Bonds takes on Daniel Arkham in a rematch. Bonds attacks him from behind. Bonds whips Arkham into the corner. MR. RBI nailed a side slam. Bonds held Arkham in the back breaker position. Bonds clubbed Arkham with a double fist swing. He missed his next swing and Arkham popped him. Arkham drop kicked Bonds. Arkham chopped him off the middle ropes. Arkham clotheslined Mr. RBI twice. Bonds Black Hole Slammed Arkham on his third attempt for the victory. Analysis: Better than their last match but there wasn’t much to it. Score: 0.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 8

Injuries have taken a toll on the PWO roster. Find out below for who it is.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. The main event is going to be Bobby Shields vs Johnny Gargano. Corey Winters takes on Bryan Castle too. The opener is going to be for the PWO TV Title with Jason Gory defending against Gregory Iron. The introductions took a while but Dombrowski & Maguire filled in the past between the opponents. Pedro De Lucca did formal introductions as always for a title bout. Gorey goes to the outside to start the match but Iron gave him a plancha to get things going. (The audio sounds a little off again.) An Irish Whip into one corner led to a bulldog out of the other corner. The crowd got a “Handicapped Hero” chant going. Iron got a two count on a roll up. Gorey turned it around by biting Iron’s forehead. Gorey chopped him in the corner. A suplex got Gorey a two count. Gorey launched himself into Iron’s midsection while he was in a corner. Gorey choked Iron on the middle rope then snapped his neck on it by sling shooting to the outside. Iron connected on a pair of clotheslines. Gorey gave Iron a boot to the face. Gorey got caught coming off the middle rope. Iron turned it into a neck breaker. A face buster by Iron looked similar to a Code Breaker. Iron tried to choke Gory with his shirt. The referee took it away from him. While the ref was distracted, Gorey clocked Iron with the TV Title. Gorey locked on the Anaconda Vice for the victory.

Analysis: Good match. You don’t want Iron winning at this point. Extend this feud out. I’m interested to see if Iron ends up going up the food chain to Krimson. Gorey is more suitable size wise and it’d help to take away the Dead Wrestling Society’s only gold. But taking out the leader since he took out your best friend has it’s merits too. Score: +1.

Aeroform (Louis Lynden & Flip Kendrick) celebrates their win as tag team champions. Michael “The Bomber” Facade is in the back ground. Louis Lynden starts the victory speech. He notes that the Sons of Michigan are no more. Lynden says it is Facade’s time to get single’s gold. He said that he’s let the PWO TV Title slip thru his hands too many times. Facade said he’s going to take the title out of the darkness and put it on “The Neon Ninja” where it can shine bright. Flip Kendrick says that they’re on fire.

Analysis: Not a great finish by the closer. I liked Lynden the best. Neon Ninja just makes me laugh. I know he wears lots of neon but I didn’t realize that was something to be proud of since the mid 80’s. I’m glad Facade admitted his short coming in winning the title. The Sons of Michigan are done because “Amazing” N8 Mattson retired late last year after sustaining another injury. I’d like to thank him for taking time out to talk to me last year before Wrestlelution. He was a class act and I wish him the best. Score: 0.

Veda Scott assumes that we know her and we’ve seen Wrestlelution. She blamed her loss when light reflected of someone’s hot dog wrapper. She said that she will take out Sassy Stephie to prove her point. They cut away when she was still talking. Analysis: Let’s just say she needs some work in the mic department. The focus of her character needs to be found. She didn’t go all in heel to me. She also needed to organize things better. I liked the idea of the message but she had to repeat herself or restart after a stumble more than once. Score: -1.

Corey Winters comes to the ring with Ben Fruith. Bryan Castle is accompanied by Brian Bender. Winters tried a bunch of stuff that a little man shouldn’t on a much larger opponents. Castle started with a Samoan Drop from one of those moves. Winters landed on his feet on a suplex attempt. Winters countered out of a belly to back suplex. Winters tried to slam Castle who reversed it. A leg drop by Castle only got him a two count. Winters gave Castle a pair of enziguris. Winters kicked Castle in the gut then a running boot to the face. Winters sentoned him but only got two. Bender gave Winters the lucky head band of Castle. He gave Winters a single leg drop kick. Castle power slammed Winters. Castle missed a splash in the corner. Winters rolled up Castle for the victory. Winters acted surprised. They hugged after the match. Castle then hugged Fruith & Bender.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 7

Who did the PWO commissioner suspend for going over the line?

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire introduce the show. The main event is Matt Cross against Jason Bane for the PWO Title. Bobby Shields takes on Ben Fruith along with Brodie Lee taking on Corey Winters which is up first. “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine came to the ring with Lee. Winters was in the ring to start the match with Lee still on the outside. Winters gave him a high knee lift then a plancha. Lee dropped Winters on top of the guard rail. Lee bounced Winters’ head off a chair which was on the announce table. Lee rolled Winters back into the ring. A knife edge chop put Winters down. A pump handle suplex by Lee led to more show boating. Lee battered Winters in the corner. Lee with a splash in the opposite corner. Winters got in a jaw breaker and a victory roll after more show boating. Lee missed another corner splash. Winters nailed a missile drop kick. Head scissors take over then an enziguri led to another two count. Lee caught Winters with a big boot. Lee finished Winters with a power bomb. Lee grabbed the pipe and nailed Winters. LaBar came out and stop Lee to stop it “or else.” LaBar suspended Lee. Brodie went for another power bomb when LaBar threatens to suspend Fontaine. Maguire helped to talk sense into Lee to leave.

Analysis: A commissioner that did the logical thing. Yay! Guys are getting suspended in sports for going over the line, it only makes sense. The match played out how it should have. They gave Winters enough offense to not look bad but Lee dominated as he should have. Score: +1.

PWO – Season 5 – Episode 6

A number of rivalries rear their ugly heads tonight. None of them are of the sibling variety though.

Joe Dombrowski introduces the show while Aaron Maguire relaxes. The main event is Johnny Gargano versus Gregory Iron. Brian Bender & Bryan Castle are set to take on Ben Fruith & Corey Winters. Dombrowski informs us that Jason Bane takes on “M Dogg 20” Matt Cross next week. The tag match between Bender & Castle and Fruith & Winters. Bender and Fruith start off the match. Bender puts Fruith in a hammer lock. Dombrowski apologizes for screaming Fruith Roll up but then makes a bad Breaking 2 Electric Boogaloo joke to unapologize. Bender picks up Fruith after a third attempt at a Fruith Roll up. Castle is tagged in. Castle gets a two count after a slam. Castle had Fruith in a fireman’s carry but allowed Fruith to get in a fourth roll up. Fruith & Winters double clothesline Castle. Winters got clotheslined back. Castle missed a corner splash. Winters gave Castle a running knee. Brodie Lee came down and booted Bender in the face. (He needed to sell it more.) Lee cleaned house. Bender came back in and ate another boot. Lee then powerbombed him. “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine grabbed a mic and told Justin LaBar that he didn’t have the upper hand. Fontaine said that him & Lee run the show. Fontaine said that no matter who the champion is, they’re coming after them. Winters yells at Lee as him & Fontaine are exiting. Winters is tired of being pushed around so he challenges Lee to a match next week. Maguire questions Winters sanity. They replayed the angle with Jason Bane and Matt Cross from the beginning of the season.

Analysis: The teams were on an equal level so I was going to be interested to see who got the victory but that obviously didn’t happen. Fontaine was good on the mic but this angle gets to me no matter when. If an employee(s) is going to be to be this insubordinate, fire them. Problem solved. He can’t come up with a legal reason when he admits he is doing wrong on television. Winters character could go somewhere but he is going to get his ass handed to him next week. Score:0 (match) +1 (Fontaine’s promo) -1 (logic of the angle) +1 (Lets see if they have something in mind. Could be a retroactive 0).

Krimson quoted Ernest Hemingway. Krimson said that Brian Bender was their next victim but Gregory Iron & his band of merry wrestlers saved him. Krimson said he was going to finish the job God started on Iron’s hand. Krimson said it was good to see Matt Justice. Krimson said that after his failure in New York, he hopes Justice comes around to Krimson’s line of thinking. Krimson greeted Jason Bane the same as Justice. Krimson said that he should keep the title ready for him. Analysis: Very good promo. There’s three people in the group, so they can target multiple people. He didn’t seem to have much direction yet this season but that’s a nice way to lay things out. Score: +1.

Matthew Justice came to the ring while Dombrowski filled us in on his recent history of going to the WWE and battling Krimson before he left PWO. He was excited to make his return in his hometown of Streetsboro. Justice said he didn’t belong there and wasn’t happy. He said he wrestles because it’s his passion. He didn’t like “sports entertainment.” Justice set his sights on Krimson and the rest of the Dead Wrestling Society. Analysis: If he wasn’t happy, fine, leave. He doesn’t seem big enough to fit the WWE mold. Him not being happy with “sports entertainment” is a joke. He’s still in it, just in PWO. I liked the conviction though when it came to Krimson. They could have a great match if he learned some more pointers in FCW. Score: +0.

Stunt Granny Audio Show #166

Jeremy & Kevin are back to tickle your ears with goodness after a couple of busy week. Do they cover all of the material they skipped? Of course not or this audio would last for five hours. They do start by talking some Pro Wrestling Ohio. Who got thrown under the bus during this segment? And who did the guys throw under the bus during their weekend conversation. They spend the majority of the time talking about the WWE though. How was the Daniel Bryan versus Mark Henry match on the special live Smackdown? Bryan gets talked about more after his appearance against Alberto Del Rio on Raw. Why is he still labeled a dork? Is AJ the cutest thing ever? They segue those thoughts into talking about the Diva’s division for the only time this month. Jeremy & Kevin roll on to talk about one of the weirdest segments in a long time, John Cena pushing Zack Ryder. Why was it weird? Was it as forced as Alberto Del Rio’s push? The PWO Conversation 12-03-2011

Jeremy: Ok so you watched PWO from two weeks ago not this current show?

Kevin: Correct.

Jeremy: So what you think of the main event and all the shennanigans?

Kevin: What a clusterfuck.

Jeremy: No shit.

Kevin: Very little build except by Maguire for the commissioner spot. Then reveal it and have anarchy? What a terrible choice.

Jeremy: I was totally shocked when Fontaine won and I thought, what a great idea. No one expected it. What a genuine surprise. Then they totally killed it all. Why was there a need for a commissioner in the first place? Who the hell makes the matches anyway? Was anyone, I mean anyone clamoring for an authority figure? Let alone some internet writer?

Kevin: “The Board” or some such entity.

Jeremy: Oh you mean like TNA’s “Network.” Ugh. If you are going to reuse ideas don’t reuse TNA’s. If an authority figure is going to be used shouldn’t it be “someone” not just anyone.

Kevin: Are you saying LaBar isn’t a someone?

Jeremy: Who?

Kevin: Thanks for adding to my final analysis

Jeremy: If I am a new fan of PWO watching that mess I really have to be scratching my head.  Maybe it is just me but they routinely have a simple, solid show and presentation. There is no need to get cute. Keep it streamlined and avoid this type of garbage. If that match had ended and then Labar came out and did a “tisk tisk” face with no announcement that would have been ideal. This way you would have had three different elements there. Why is that guy on? What happens with Matt Cross? Fontaine is the new champ. All three are hooks for the next week. Instead they wasted it all

Kevin: Good call on that couldn’t have summed it up better.

Jeremy: I will give them a pass on some of it since I do not know their schedule for tapings and what not.  But for episodic TV they blew it. I would think they tape all at the same time. All of the participants are still in the building so there would be no scheduling conflict.  Instead the following week we are treated to RBI whoever vs Daniel Arkham for this week. And holy shit was that painful.

Jeremy: Anyway, is there a wrestler you have seen that you wish did some sort of performance enhancing drugs so that WWE would notice them and skyrocket them? As bad as that theory may be. That’s how I feel with Fontaine.

Kevin: I had forgotten they were getting a new commish.

Jeremy: So did I.

Kevin: That was their first episode after the break.

Jeremy: There were some aspects I liked. Even though he has terrible hands Dombrowski sold both victories very well. Maguire was great in his cheerleading during the victory as well.

Kevin: He had me cracking up most of the episode. Maguire truly throws out stuff that is close to the topic but enough that Dombrowski has to question his line of thinking.

Jeremy: It took me a while to figure out Maguire’s style. At first I thought this dude was lazy but then realize he is pretty decent smartass but it comes off so low key it nearly gets lost.

Kevin: It helped when they stopped moving him in & out of the booth.

Jeremy: There seems to be a lot of potential with PWO. As an indy league goes the wrestlers are not embarrassing.

Jeremy: I think the production could be better though to capitalize on them.

Kevin: For all the gadgets they got for production, they need money for a set. They like to tape in different venues, but I’m talking backgrounds for the taped promos that they could ship from place to place. Speaking of production, it wasn’t just me that heard the announcers sounding like they were broadcast in the whole venue, was I?

Jeremy: No you were not. I swear at some points you heard them through the PA system. That is a huge no no.

Kevin: Those types of mistakes should start being eliminated. They’ve been around long enough and had the toys for long enough.

Jeremy: That just seemed like a gaffe though not a constant problem.

Kevin: It happened too many times for my liking.

Jeremy: I don’t want to come off negative about this promotion or product though. It needs to be said there are positives but this just stood out as a major mess up in booking. They lost out on a lot of future potential. Then I saw the ads for the Brawl in the Hall promotion and wondered why this wasn’t all build up to that.

Kevin: Is that the Dec. 17th taping? I was buzzing thru the commercials.

Jeremy: I think so. They tout it as the first annual event so it should be special and this is where the build should have started. Not started and ended in the same ten minute segment.
