Stunt Granny Conversation: The Walking Dead – Season 4 – Us

the-walking-dead-season-4-episode-15-UsJeremy:  So yeah, an empty Train Station growing Sunflowers? Every thing must be ship shape in there.

Kevin:  There’s got to be a catch. I’m not even sure they’ll reveal what it is in the season finale next week. My bet is on a cliff hanger to end the final episode.
Jeremy:  Oh for sure. I mean where are all the people? Chick grilling in the middle of nowhere? Plus Mary came off really creepy.
Kevin:  Yes she did. I was expecting some more hostility in some form as they walked through guns ready to go. Nothing happened though.
Jeremy:  Yeah the high security of an unlocked fence. Nothing screams safe like a chain just wrapped around a chain link fence. I know there is one episode to go this season but they can’t make them this dumb.
Kevin:  I’d have to think they aren’t simply because of all of the vegetables being grown and the fact that zombies weren’t anywhere to be seen.
Jeremy:  I would expect their guard to be high. They have lost both Hershel’s house and the prison. I also remember Woodbury had a similar area where they fought the walkers.
Kevin:  I would expect that they will pull out a new twist on the defense. Everyone seems to have a new bag of tricks.
Jeremy:  Yeah at least someone in the group reached the place. The episode did  a lot even if it didn’t seem like it. Almost felt like a first episode of a season instead of a second to last of the season episode.
Kevin:  They started to tie everything together so I’m not sure how anyone would think that episode didn’t do a lot. 2 of the groups found each other and we found out for sure that the gang Daryl is with are the ones who wondered into the house where Rick, Carl and Michonne were. I know we assumed that.

The Walking Dead – Season 4 – Still

The Walking Dead - StillJeremy:  What an entirely uneven episode last night. The logic gaffes were astounding.

Kevin:  That was not one of my favorite episodes. Nothing reeled me in last night even with their existence being in more peril than other people’s they’ve shown.
Jeremy:  I enjoyed the lead up until they burned down the cabin. The lack of dialogue and the exploration was good but it did hurt Daryl’s tracker skills.
Kevin:  Or any semblance to a leader in training that he had gotten from Rick. You always viewed him as the right hand man but he cracks when the war goes a little awry.
Jeremy:  Well he was in survival mode and he was doing a decent job. I give him the benefit of the doubt since he just lost his brother and now everyone else.
Kevin:  But you said it best, why not use his tracking skills to find the other people. We’re still talking about a relatively small area everyone is in. 2 sets of people have found the camp welcoming people.
Jeremy:  You beat me to it. I understand they may not have seen anyone else escape but the train tracks keep sticking out to me. They may not have gone the same way as the others though. One set goes West the other East.  Especially if by going back to the cabin, wouldn’t they have stumbled across that golf course in the past as well?
Kevin:  I would think they’d be pretty familiar with the territory considering how many runs they’ve gone on for supplies.
Jeremy:  Nailed it. Now they didn’t act as if it was a surprise to find it but the way they went through it lead me to believe they had never been in there. The lack of caution they displayed was stellar.
Kevin:  No caution at all in about anything they did. I was surprised that the arrows breaking down didn’t play more into that lack of caution.
Jeremy:  Unless that is for later but it was a clear foreshadowing device that was not seen through. Another big issue is why they didn’t load up on golf clubs? It seemed to work rather well.
Kevin:  I’m surprised more people haven’t used those. They’ve been effective on more than on occasion. You get some distance from the walker. They’re light and strong.
Jeremy:  Yeah and when it breaks you can jab em in the head. It makes sense to grab a bag and run off. Wait, or not run off since it is shelter.
Kevin:  I thought that was pretty strange too. Everyone else has found shelter pretty easy but no such luck for Beth & Daryl.

Jeremy:  Daryl’s survivor instincts seemed to call for him to move and be out in the wild. how taking camp in a dense tree forest makes sense is beyond me.
did they learn nothing form the opening scene?

Stunt Granny Conversation – The Walking Dead – Season 4 – Claimed

Walking-Dead-Claimed-Suspenseful-With-New-ThreatsKevin:  Do we want to start with Rick’s relaxing day at the house?

Jeremy:  For an episode where not a lot happened that was some intense stuff.
Kevin:  I wasn’t sure how I talked myself into going bed. Maybe it’s because I know the good guy usually gets away. That was great tension though.
Not seeing the invaders really helped to ratchet it up.
Jeremy:  At first I thought the noise was Rick coming out of a dream. When it kept going it was actually kind of frightening.
Kevin:  I thought it was a dream or something just to scare him like a tree branch against a window.
Jeremy:  As much as I hate scenes liek that with the guy walking and then eventually jumping on the bed, that one worked so well. The gun barrell being prominent really helped.
Kevin:  They did it so well in many respects. Normally, the person isn’t as injured as Rick was. I mentioned not seeing the invaders because that usually happens too. You see them rummaging through the house so you know how many of them there are.
But you were in the dark that whole time. Just when you thought they had shown all the men, another shows up.
Jeremy:  Yes and he falls asleep and then gets woken up only to get choked out. The look on his face when he saw Rick was great. Trying to get the blockhead choking him to stop so he can tell him someone is under the bed.
Kevin:  I figured the attacker would let go at some point. Death for not giving up a bed seemed a bit much. Not during the zombie apocalypse though.
Jeremy:  Well he just put him to sleep. Brutus Beefcake style minus the haircut. Now, why didn’t Rick grab the damn gun? He is sneaking around for no reason. Grab the gun and get out.
Kevin:  He kept trying to not let them know he was there and grabbing the gun would have tipped them off.
Jeremy:  Yeah well if he has the gun it won’t matter. Nothing says stealth like fighting a guy in a bathroom.
