x-men-days-of-future-past22

Yes you see that correctly as it is the dawn of a new era on Stunt Granny. Please welcome our newest Podcast: We Watch Stuff. After two successful runs on the unnamed show we decided to make this a permanent fixture so if you like TV, movies, comics or books then this is the place for you. Ok, not books because really, who the hell reads anymore? This week’s show consists primarily of the X-Men movie franchise. After X-Men: Days of Future Past is the future of Fox’s X-Men franchise secure or was this on par with X-Men: The Last Stand? Why is it that Shahid goes off on the typical comic fan? Would a spin-off movie off all of the X-Men a**hole characters work? What is the biggest missed opportunity in the new Amazing Spiderman franchise? (Yeah that slipped in the convo.) Was the lack of explanation on major plot threads a detriment to Days of Future Past? Why are comic fans such a whiny bunch? Is it even possible to make a movie they will enjoy? Well, all the answers rest in the link below so go ahead and click away already.

Brand New Stunt Granny Audio Show Without A Name Yet #2

Godzilla-new-posterOh yes it is round two of the show without a name and it is pretty obvious what dominates the conversation. In case you haven’t heard there is a new Godzilla movie out and it is awesome. Jeremy and Shahid talk extensively about the movie. What worked? What didn’t work? Are the criticisms of the movie valid or is it just the same old same old with people whining just to whine? The obvious comparisons with Pacific Rim arise. Is it justified to even bring it up? Was Pacific Rim bad or was it exactly what it needed to be. They also disagree on Michael Bay’s Transformers movies. Yeah they suck and Shahid is wrong but he is the new guy so kid gloves were used. The boys also discuss Jeremy’s experience watching “The Amazing Spiderman 2.” When a movie is below average it helps to have some audience participation. The show rounds out with a discussion of “The Guardians of The Galaxy” preview and just how Marvel is taking a big chance on this one. It is better than last week so give this one a try OK? No seriously give it a try.

So, the results are what you can download and listen to immediately. For their first show the guys discuss the season finale of Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. They delve in to the full season of each show in order to bring everyone up to speed on the shows for those of you who haven’t given either of them a view. They discuss what worked and didn’t work about each show and theorize over the direction of each show going in to next season.  In rapid fire fashion they go over the Batman image reveal; The Flash trailer and why initial Internet fan reaction is normally totally incorrect. So give it a listen and give us ideas for the show name while you are at it.

Demolition Man and Wolverine from Marvel - The Ultimate Character Guide

Demolition Man and Wolverine from Marvel – The Ultimate Character Guide

After an unintended month lay off, Ken & Kevin are back to talk about some diverse topics. They start with an article written in The New Republic about the formation of an American Football team in Chongqing, China. How much did these Chinese citizens know about football? How old are the people learning to play? How did they get their nicknames? How does China organize their school system? How recent was that type of freedom allowed? How much does this story sound like a typical underdog sports movie? Who could play the villainous coach? Which one of your hosts guarantees this will be made into a movie? Ken & Kevin move on to talking about possible Atari dump site. How bad was the game E.T. The Extraterrestrial? Did either of your hosts play the game as children? Is this game what sunk Atari? Which games from Atari might still be playable? Where can the gentlemen play some of these old Atari games in Columbus? How many games are supposed to be buried? Who paid to dig it up? Their last subject is Marvel’s Original Sin. Why does this topic relate to the present that Jeremy got Kevin for his birthday? What do all of these numbers mean in the Marvel- The Ultimate Character Guide? How obscure are some of the characters in this book? Do they have dumb factoids for Ken to enjoy? Is the Watcher listed as one of the characters? Why did Kevin reference a Robot Chicken skit while talking about this topic? Find out that and the #SippyTimeBeer of the week when you click on the link below!

Stunt Granny Audio Movie Review: Iron Man 3

Iron-Man-3Jeremy and Kevin return after a few weeks of worthless movies and talk all things Iron Man 3. Who liked it? Who didn’t? Did Iron Man 3 break the string of third act failures for superhero movies? How do they manage to make Gwyneth Paltrow attractive in these flicks? No really; she is smoking in the Iron Man franchise. Who had a problem with the blatant plot holes and lack of logic? Was it enough to drag the movie down or was it acceptable in a turn your brain off sort of way? How many individual toys was the final battle supposed to sell? If you are going to make your audience sit through the previews shouldn’t you make them interesting at least? Why the hell are there fifteen minutes of previews in front of a two and a half hour movie? Did any of them sway our reviewers? Did it matter if you saw it in Imax or standard film versions? All of these will be answered and then some so get to listening.

Jeremy and Kevin are here this week to tickle your ear buds. They do it first by talking about the biggest news in the land, Disney buying Lucasfilm. What did somebody say there was a storm that was more important? They belabor the point about how terrible the most recent trilogy is. How recent is that trilogy though? Do they still like other aspects of the Lucas Empire? The guys wrap up the entertainment talk by talking about some Legos, not just the Star Wars variety. Which ones has Kevin had his eyes on recently? The guys move on to some wrestling talk by mentioning the big story, Ryback getting a cheap disqualification win over CM Punk. Eric & Kevin wanted to keep the belt on CM Punk in last week’s show. Dusty lobbied for it in his story. What does the fourth member of Stunt Granny think? They ponder whether it is good that they’re dragging this feud out now with a traditional Survivor Series match. Is the match type antiquated or is the writing just too bad for it? The last topic they get to is Wade Barrett. Is there a point to building up the guy to lose a series of tough matches? Jeremy gets out some venting to end the show because Kevin wasted too match time talking Star Wars to get to Mad Libs this week. Click on the link below to listen!
