Stunt Granny Audio Show #140

It’s Dusty and Kevin this time around, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. The two go in depth on this week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. What did they think of Vince McMahon’s patriotic jingoism? What about the Rock taking up like 45 minutes of air time? Surely they had some sort of opinion on that. Is Mason Ryan the next literal big thing, or are they just using him until Dave Asthma comes back? Was this a bad show or a really bad show? The two then shift their focus to talking about Tough Enough and how awesome Steve Austin has been over the last five weeks. If you think good things are good, then you are going to want to listen to this audio.

Stunt Granny Audio Show #140

Stunt Granny Lunch Conversation: Jeremy and Kevin, May 3, 2011

Finally!

Kevin: Just getting around to Extreme Rules results

Jeremy: Underwhelming; Glad I didn’t order

Kevin: I was just going to look at results when the Bin Laden news hit. It does seem underwhelming. I’m happy for Christian. How glad is he that he left TNA?

Jeremy: Maybe should save this but it would have been better without Edge

Kevin: They’ve been so intertwined, it’s hard to argue with the choice  and Christian was being attacked 3 on 1. He needed some help.

Jeremy: See it appears like a default instead of earning it. He only got it because of Edge retiring. He only won because edge interfered. There was also the inevitability of him winning due to the draft.

Kevin: Yeah, there was no doubt in my mind with Del Rio headed to Raw.And yeah, Edge would have kept the title if he wasn’t forced to retire. Impossible to get around that Del Rio to Raw was probably in the books to happen so they needed a baby face champ and Christian was the only one on SD that fit that description.

Jeremy: Yup, hence have the draft tonight dummies.

Kevin: Definitely. Haven’t they done that for a couple of years now? You’d think they’d learn their lesson; boring PPV because they’re all predictable outcomes. All baby face victories except Layla.

Jeremy: Yeah cause Layla wasn’t a face or heel. If McCool is leaving then I guess Layla is the face? I am confused. Then Kharma comes out and destroys Michelle who is the heel so is Kharma a face?

Kevin: That was a bigger train wreck than normal in the women’s division. No one felt sympathetic for anyone even though Layla was trying to “do the right things” like therapy and giving a shit.

Jeremy: Heels doing therapy to me just screamed hate. I guess since it was two women or some comedy tag team, Headcheese comes to mind, that they considered it to be good on Layla’s behalf.

Kevin: They kind of half assed the blame game. Layla didn’t really cost them much and neither did Michelle. Normally, someone pulls the wrong leg, hits their friend with a chair, etc. It was all incidental contact that kept costing Layla matches.

Jeremy: But in WWE no one owns a DVR or, um what are those other antiquated recording devices that even the homelsss consider toilets? VCR’s?

Kevin: One would think since all the leagues pimp Twitter, that they’d acknowledge the existence of technology. People stop being friends for a lot of reasons. Come up with a different one

Jeremy: Jealousy is always the easiest or resentment but there was nothing there.

Kevin:  Which is the other point, if you’re going to keep going back to the same well, at least have something there

Stunt Granny Big 11 Week Ending 4/30/11

1. Randy Orton – He’s the big winner of the draft in my book. Despite being the most popular baby face in the company, he was still living in John Cena’s shadow on Raw. Edge’s unfortunate injury has allowed him to move to Smackdown to become the #1 face on the brand. Good luck finding a suitable opponent though. – Kevin

2. Zach Ryder – He may not have gotten moved around during the draft, but the guy is steadily adding more people to his Zach Pack, which includes the whole Stunt Granny crew. Zach was on Twitter for part of the supplemental draft then joined in the fun on WWE.com. Before he got in there, people were talking him up big time. Top top of Zach’s week, he banged out another good Youtube show. He’s working hard to get himself a spot on regular TV. If he gets enough support from the “internet crowd”, even the WWE will have to start pushing him. -Kevin

3. Triple H – According to PWTorch.com, Triple H’s new title at Entertainment Tower is “Senior Advisor in Chairman’s Office.” This is a promotion from “unfunny juvenile prick” and “second oldest guy who still has his 20-somethings ponytail” (we’ll see if Michael Hayes inserts someone in that position in his own Dok Hendrix likeness). -Eric

4. CM Punk – Is he really going to leave us? PWInsider.com says maybe. My computer virus clean-up guy says, “Stop going to PWInsider.” -Eric

5. Joey Styles – If you’re not following @JoeyStyles on Twitter, you’re missing out on quite a few subversive Tweets that promote sexy-ass pictures of WWE Divas during a PG era, mentions of Team Taz when the little guy works for the competition, and a whole lot of “OH MY GOD!” Oh, and for Earth Day last week, he basically said he was celebrating by leaving the water running and clubbing baby seals. I couldn’t love him more if he knocked out JBL one more time. -Eric

6. TNA Knockouts – Anyone else remember when this was the highlight portion of any Impact broadcast? TNA did its best this week to remind us by including two fat broads and a bunch of other women who aren’t over and don’t draw ratings. Ahh memories. -Jeremy

7. R-Truth – This guy makes for some memorably painful television. You have to appreciate the fact they give him plenty of rope and he knows how to construct a perfect noose. Someone backstage has to love this guy or just how bad these segments are to watch. Why else is this mush mouth half tard on live television? –Jeremy

8. Smackdown – After the draft finished it became clear Smackdown is clearly the B show for WWE now. No more illusions of equality. This also means Smackdown could possibly be the better wrestling show. They have good workers and enough fresh blood to make it way more entertaining than RAW. -Jeremy

9. Michelle McCool – So she’s apparently leaving WWE. It was previously being speculated that she was just taking some time off, but now it is being speculated that she is gone for good. Since we here at Stunt Granny all majored in Speculation (class of 2004, huzzah), we are going to go ahead and “report” that here because what are we without Idle Chatter (minored in that). – Dusty

10. The Undertaker – So does that mean he’s gone too, now? Not that he’s… not already. You know? – Dusty

11. 46 percent – During WWE’s annual Shake Things Up A Bit Extravaganza, 46 percent of their on air talent roster changed to the other “brand.” This gives me severe gas and makes my head explosion. – Dusty

Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Raw

This image came up when I typed in "Oh shit". Who am I to argue?

I typed in “Oh shit” because the Penguins are going to a game seven on Wednesday. Time to do or go home. I can’t say I expected much out of them without Sidney Crosby & Geno Malkin but damn it, I want this first round. I’m almost debating driving there. As the Pensblog will undoubtedly say “Time to sac up.”

Well, actually time to draft up. We start with a battle royal. My buddy Sean as he’s going out the door says “That’s gay.” Couldn’t agree more. By the way, couldn’t be less excited about the NFL draft this weekend. This one doesn’t hold much weight for me either. People are getting eliminated left and right. Why did Mark Henry eliminate himself basically to eliminate Clay? The announcer draft factoids are more mundane than any stat Todd McShay can come up with. We hit a commercial.

Big Show & Kofi for SD take on Mason Ryan & Evan Bourne. This could help Bourne out if he survives. He’s been on a losing streak. Of course Bourne does the worst possible thing, jumping into Big Show’s arms. Mason Ryan loses in a valiant effort, I suppose. He lost a lot of momentum when he got punted. Stupidest draft ever. Cena to Smackdown. I like it. It was him or Orton. He has a history with the Smackdown brand. Cole acting upset is hilarious in a bad way.

WrestleMania 27 Preview #4- The Two Matches To Get People Bonus Money

Jeremy and Kevin get to review John Morrison, Trish Stratus & Snooki against Dolph Ziggler, Michelle McCool & Layla along with The Corre against The Big Show, Kane, Vladimir Kozlov & Santino Marella. The WWE tried to build up one of these matches and not the the later so the guys lumped them together. Find out which one of the guys has slept with someone bigger than Snooki. That’s the best part of the show, may as well highlight it.

Smackdown Spoilers

Taken for the sole purpose of using for this spoiler post.

I tweeted all of the results from @Stuntgranny last night. When I got home, Kent State was in the process of losing at Colorado so I was too consumed to put this post together.  I’m going to string together my tweets and add a little extra commentary. I’m hoping to talk about Raw and this taping so I’m reserving some commentary for your ear holes. Since these are spoilers, I’ll only show my first Tweet before putting up a read more link.

Tweet: The parkin is barren. I’m either here early or it’s a light crowd -K. After: The parking, I hate spelling mistakes, was light as was the crowd. They had a whole lot of tarped off area. I went to a Blue Jackets game last week and there was 8-10000 people. There couldn’t have been any more last night.

Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Raw

It's been a parade of men in trunks as the WWE shows off it's roster for the 40 man Royal Rumble.

Jeremy IMed me last week and said that he was getting the Royal Rumble. For some reason, it hadn’t dawned on me that I could actually buy a pay per view instead of watching it at Dusty’s neighbor. I have decided to join him in purchasing the pay per view so I’m going to type and talk my mind this week. That means I get the week started with a blog and a Leinenkugel Creamy Dark.

The GM screws Edge one last time. At least they’re keeping an ongoing storyline for a change. Someone has a shot at #40. Tyson Kidd is dispatched first. Wow, has Jack Swagger fallen and not just for this challenge. McIntyre is another guy in a downward spiral. “Who wants to see a smashed lap top computer?” Can’t say I ever imagined those words would be uttered on Raw. Even worse that the crowd popped for it. CM Punk and crew come out. Are they trying to show off all 40 competitors tonight? Mason Ryan officially gets a name. CM Punk cuts an OK promo. Barrett gets a crack on the mic. Edge is such a pussy for leaving when Nexus showed up. Nice big man show down. Mystery GM chimes in to make a Barrett vs. Punk match. The loser has their crew yanked from the Rumble. I’m going to have to count the roster size. They are going to exclude some good wrestlers and add jobbers which is royally dumb.

Morrison & Henry take on Sheamus (another guy who’s been in a funk for longer than I expected) & Del Rio. I smell Henry taking a pin. They take a match break at a predictable time.

Mark Henry takes on Sheamus, who looks like a pansy until the Rogue Kick. Del Rio gets the arm bar on Henry. Looks like I was a little off since Henry tapped out. Two heels should not be celebrating and smiling at each other. On should have turned on the other and tossed him out of the ring to prove they’d win on Sunday. Faces played patty cake like that.

Stunt Granny Audio- WWE TLC 2010 Preview

Pretty straight forward huh? Yup, it is the return of the audio PPV preview shows. Kevin and Jeremy come at ya to discuss WWE’s TLC PPV.  They cover every match in great detail save for one. Oh and it isn’t the one you think it is. They discuss the difference between WWE Divas and TNA’s Knockouts in the context of actually mattering. They also run down the problems with how the Smackdown main event changed. Was it necessary or was it a stroke of genius on their part? They then break in to song and relive past WWE TLC match glories, well, not really but we need to fill space here to make you listen. I mean how do you fill space on a preview show without giving everything away? If I was a better writer maybe I could come up with something but I’m not so I didn’t. So now you gave to listen.
