PWO – Season 3 – Episode 19

We know where it happened in PWO, but we don't know who. By the way, how do I not have this DVD?

Joe Dombrowski hyped the six man tag team main event between Johnny Gargano, Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe against Sex Appeal. Gargano joined Dombrowski for commentary.

Benjamin Boone was accompanied by N8 Mattson to the ring for his match in the #1 Contendership Tournament for the PWO Heavyweight Title.  Michael “The Bomber” Facade was Boone’s opponent. Gargano complimented both potential opponents for his title.  Facade caught Boone with a drop kick off the top rope as he came into the ring. Boone mismanaged a moonsault but eventually muscled Facade up for a power slam. Gargano said that Boone wrestles like a bear by mauling and staying on top of you. Boone delay suplexed Facade but only got a two count of it. Boone threw facade outside the ring, distracted the ref and allowed Mattson to get in a couple of cheap shots before tossing Facade back into the ring. Boone applied the bear claw to Facade but he came back at the two and a half count. Facade used his speed to duck around Boone’s offense and to quickly strike.  Facade hit a good looking spring board spinning wheel kick.  Facade went up for a top rope moonsault but Mattson hit him with the TV Title. The referee counted Facade out.

Analysis: Perfect ending to the match since Facade will be taking on Mattson for the TV Title soon. Well wrestled match to that point. I was laughing at Facade having problems getting his gi off for a Jeff Hardy like girl scream moment. Gargano got a phone call about half way through the match and left Dombrowski flying solo. Dombrowski asked him what it was for but Gargano didn’t explain. Score: +1.

Doctor Monstrous said that she will be making her debut soon. She told all evil doers to be aware because she’s coming for them. Someone off screen called for Portia to come to her photo shoot. Doctor Monstrous shook her head and said she’s not Portia.

PWO – Season 3 – Episode 9

"The Megastar" is in the main event. Check out what happened after the jump.

Benjamin Boone was accompanied to ring side by N8 Mattson.Boone was ready to take on Jason Bane to collect Aaron Maguire’s $10,000 bounty. Joe Dombrowski & Maguire noted that Boone pushed Bane to the limit the last time they wrestled before interference. They also said that both wrestlers are in the best shape of their lives. Bane came at Boone early with some basic power wrestling.  Bane hit a spine buster but before he could capitalize, Mattson grabbed his leg. Boone then took over and focused on Bane’s left leg.  Bane blocked a suplex and hit one of his own. hey battled outside the ring. Bane charged at Boone but missed when Mattson pushed Boone out of the way. Mattson tried to hit Bane with a chair but Bane stopped him. Bane then chased him to the backstage area. Bane was counted outfor Boone to get the win.

Analysis: Good match that didn’t give away a clean finish between the battle of the big men. It was their second go around though so they can’t stretch this feud out much longer unless tag team matches involve them. Maguire can continue to hold the bounty for Bane too since Boone didn’t get him out of PWO.

Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe were backstage. Iron said he wasn’t surprised by the bullying of Sex appeal. He said that they may be the champions right now, but they can be the cream of the crop. Iron said that he has faith in Joe. Joe said that it was nice for the vote of confidence but he’s not sure who is going to turn on him since all of his friends have turned on him. Iron said that he was there for the long haul. They then shook hands and Iron said they were coming for the belts.

PWO – Season 3 – Episode 5

Two Belts were on the line in this episode of Pro Wrestling Ohio.

Joe Dombrowski hyped the card which involved Aaron Draven versus M-Dogg 20 Matt Cross for the TV Title and Johnny Gargano versus Mike Tolar for the PWO Heavyweight Title. Dombowski introduced Aaron Maguire but the camera forgot to show him. Maguire was sharp enough to make up for the camera gaffe by sliding into the picture even though he was nearly sitting on Dombrowski’s lap.

Bobby Beverly came to the ring with Dawn Decadence to take on Hobo Joe. Beverly upgraded his look by adding the douchebag faux hawk. Beverly extended his hand for a shake but Joe spit in his face. Joe  took over after an even opening couple of minutes. Beverly took a break on the outside. Joe threw him into the guard rail. Beverly hit a drop toe hold to make Joe go face first into the guard rail.  Beverly got a two count after a fireman’s carry driver that was sloppy. Beverly got another two count after a flying forearm.  Joe hit a pair of should blocks to knock Beverly to the outside again. Beverly hit a good looking fisherman’s buster but still only got a two count. Beverly turned a urinogi into a back breaker for the victory. Beverly brought a chair into the ring to curb stomp Joe but Gregory Iron made the save.

Analysis: The outcome was it it should be but was a poorly executed match on both participants parts.

The Rock Show was introduced by Earnie Ballz & Brian Bender. He said that PWO management told them they needed to defend their titles against Luis & Isaac Montana. Bender made a great point by saying it took them two years to get a title shot in PWO. He went on to say that they have a strategy ready for the upcoming match.

PWO – Season 3 – Epsiode 4

Dawn Decadence looked like this, except in pink.

Joe Dombrowski hyped the main event match between Benjamin Boone and Jason Bane as the battle of the largest men in PWO for later. Bobby Shields came to the ring with Dawn Decadence (wearing a naughty elf costume.  The episode aired Jan. 3rd) to take on “Omega” Aaron Draven for the TV Title. Draven hit three straight arm drags to get the match rolling.  Dombrowski said that Mike Tolar would get a rematch against Johnny Gargano while Draven had Shields on the mat with a headlock. Shields took over with a slam and a fist drop that had as much hoopla as “You Can’t See Me” which is odd for a heel. Shields kept punishing Draven with head butts to the stomach and a reverse chin lock. Draven took over with a high kick and a running clothesline. Shields got a near fall out of a jack hammer. Draven got caught on the top ropes, blocked a super-plex and then stood up instead of hitting a frog splash onto Shields. Shields tried to roll up Draven but he turned it into an Oklahoma roll which got him the three count. Sex Appeal came out and they hit the triple thrust kick on Draven. Beverly curb stomped Draven to end the beat down.

Analysis: Solid match and good ending if they want to continue this feud. Draven and the three members of Sex Appeal match up well in the ring. I didn’t like the fact that they cut to the following promo as soon as Beverly hit the curb stomp.

The Puerto Rican Wrecking Crew started a promo in Spanish. Isaac Montana grabbed the mich and said his name and his partner’s, Luis Diamante, in English and said they were ready to take on The Clash which had run legends like Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart and Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake out of  PWO. They vowed to take the Tag Belts back to the Latin American community.

PWO – Season 3 – Episode 3

Corey Winters & Eric Ryan came to the ring first to take on Hobo Joe & Jason Bane. Aaron Maguire did a good job of pumping up the Winters & Ryan.  Bane started the match against Ryan. The much larger Bane took control but Ryan bailed to ring side for a breather then tagged in Winters. Bane continued to use his size and power advantage to dominate. Bane tagged in Hobo Joe who got in some offense including a rolling senton. Winters took over then started to tag in and out with Ryan working over Hobo Joe. Hobo Joe finally got the hot tag to Bane.  Bane hit a nice t-bone suplex and then belly to belly overhead suplex. Maguire left the announce booth to take a closer look at the action in the ring. He grabbed the ring mic and started bertaing Bane. Maguire said he was putting a $10,000 bounty on Bane’s head. Bane chased after Maguire to the backstage area. Corey Winters rolled up Hobo Joe while he was distracted and got the three count.

Analysis: Maguire had questioned the veracity of the tag to Bane at the end but it looked fine to me and the referee. That means Hobo Joe shouldn’t have taken the pin fall. The match was a good basic tag match with the smaller guy on the face team getting the beat down while his larger partner took charge when he was involved. Bane did look slimmer and more toned which Joe Dombrowski noted. If Maguire stays in the booth, I’m not a big fan of the bounty on Bane. I’ll let it play out for now though.

Pro Wrestling Ohio – Season 3 – Episode 1

Stunt Granny missed reviewing Pro Wrestling Ohio.

I wanted to review the matches from Wrestlelution 2: A Coming of Age but between a malfunctioning DVR and a terrible cable signal, I missed all of the recording of Wrestlelution so no reviews until I have the money to buy the DVD.

Joe Dombrowski and Agent Aaron Maguire introduced the season. Maguire bought the time from Michael Cash to do the announcing. N8 Mattson came to the ring accompanied by Benjamin Boone. The “Megastar” Marion Fontaine was his opponent. The announcers did a good ob previewing the card for the show. The match started slowly until Boone tried to interfere. Fontaine dove onto him from the top rope for his trouble.  Mattson did take control of the match. Mattson applied a rest hold a couple of times to wear down Fontaine. The “Megastar” turned thingsaround with a pair of knees and a Lou Thesz press. Fontaine hit a Lionsault but Boone distracted the ref to prevent a count. ontaine went after oone which allowed attson to hitCe Breaker or the winner.

Analysis: Not exactly a barn burner of a match to start the season on.The match was solid with nothing standing out though.

They showed a backstage segment from Wrestlelution 2 in which Mattson and Boone attacked Viurs. They left him battered in the backstage area.

“The Suburban Terrorist”  Facade talked about being an aerial assasin. He talked about using PWO as a spring board for his career. He’s going to show off his moves.

Analysis: His mic skills are limited. They gave him a shade too much time because he lost steam at the end. He had a rhyming scheme to his promo.

Portia Perez took on Hailey Hatred in a Wrestlelution 2 rematch. Hatred stared a “USA” chant sinc Poria is from Canda. They started with some early quick exchanges. The match finally picked up two mintues into the action. Hailey took control until a drop toe hold into the turn buckle. Perez went to work on the left shoulder . Portia hit a niceoverhead key lock into a shoulder drop.  Hatred made a comeback with a pair of high kicks and a ilt-a-whirl side slam. Hatred turned an electric chair into a bridging pin but only got a two count.Hatred hit her finisher, the fisherman’s buster, for the three count.
