Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Impact Wrestling

Immortal should have been dressed more like these two. This bar is in the Stanley Hotel, where "The Shining" took place. Cool place.

After review from Slammiversary, Immortal shows up in tuxedos. I’m laughing already. Waiting for a train wreck. How white trash, a camo tuxedo. The poker theme is better than the Raw Roulette Wheel, right? Trying to find something positive about this skit. Crazy Sting is comedy awfulness. He needs to channel his inner R Truth. Did they let Orlando Jordan go because Sting is going to be acting as the gay Joker? Oh no, Pennywises are in the rafters. I’m confused but it’s still shit.

They are doing a good job of hyping the Bound For Glory Series. It is ridiculous that they’re trying to sell us on “Bobby” Roode. His character change isn’t working. He’s not a common man.Roode shouldn’t have let Dinero off the hook for the Muscle Buster. you’d be 1 on 1 against Joe, who you have a step on. The losing gimmick doesn’t work in TNA. Samoa Joe has to be kicking himself. What an after thought. Punk is the talk of the town.Did I miss when the Jarretts stopped being gone forever?

Now they’re ready to kick Abyss out of the crew? You need stability with your factions. What was that belt? Shouldn’t you explain that more? I’m not sure where they’re headed with this Devon and Pope thing. If the kids turn on Devon, like Pope suggested, doesn’t excite me.

Hulk Hogan to take stories on road, Ultimate Warrior’s head explodes

hulk hogan

They're not paying him to listen, they're paying him to talk!

And to show how much more people care about that lying, stinking, rotten Hulk Hogan than they do the pious, sinless, holier-than-thou, do-no-wrong, follow-my-Destrucity first-stone-caster Ultimate Warrior, according to Prowrestling.net, Hulk Hogan has signed with The Agency Group to produce a new stage show called “In Conversation: Outside the Ring with Hulk Hogan.” Hogan and some of his friends, lackeys and mules like Greg Valentine, Brian Knobbs and Brutus Beefcake (in that order?) have gone on mini-tours and one-offs in 2010 under the name “Hulk Hogan and Friends,” appearing at small theaters to take questions from audience members, clips from which have popped up on YouTube. Dot Net says this new tour will feature:

“about an hour of semi-scripted stories and behind-the-scenes stuff, synced up with video and pictures, stuff that he wants to share with his fans and will be exciting for them to hear from him — personal stories, stories about matches and his career.”

This sounds interesting to some extent, and believe it or not, I would go to this if it came to Des Moines. But probably not West Des Moines. Hogan has lived 10 lives in the wrestling business and has done and experienced more backstage and in front of audiences than John Cena can ever wish upon his jean shorts for, potentially making for a fun hour of performance. Ultimate Warrior, on the other hand, is a coattail-riding piece of shit who had one match with Orlando Jordan in 2008 that translated into nothing at all, yet he has the gall to say Hogan, who still makes lots of money to this day, turns everything into shit. So I’m sure this Hogan news will send Warrior spiraling further into the filthy depths of social media (and will probably have Jake Roberts wondering if anyone will trade him an hour’s worth of stories for an eight-ball). -Eric

Jay Lethal Released By TNA

Fuckin figures.

UPDATE: The news of Jay Lethal’s release came on April 21. According to Wikipedia, Jay Lethal’s birthday is April 21. Burn in hell, TNA.

So Jay Lethal apparently wasn’t good enough for TNA any longer. According to PWInsider via ProWrestling.net, TNA has released the former X-Division champion. Of course he will be better remembered for his stint as a Macho Man tribute act.  So, what to make of this?

Really, it is TNA so who cares but Lethal is a young guy that has plenty of years ahead. He should have been valuable to TNA but he isn’t Eric Young, Rob Terry, Orlando Jordan, Abyss, Crimson or one of those easily confusable jackass security guys.

Releasing Lethal, regardless of if he asked for it or not, speaks to the bigger problem with TNA; they have no clue how to utilize their talent. Sure Lethal will never be a main event player but he is young and has the talent to make for a compelling mid-card act. He could have been a staple of their X-Divison but it is clear they don’t care about that. He could have been a player for the television title but there are no clearly defined rules for that belt anyway so it wouldn’t have mattered actually.

Here is the one idea no one will mention; WWE needs to get him on the next season of Tough Enough. No not developmental or NXT, they need to get him on television in a controlled environment and see if they can mold a personality for him. See if he sticks. If he wins it, great, if not, nothing lost and he can go to ROH or Japan.  -Jeremy

TNA to give away “on demand” service in exchange for Jeff Hardy drug binge

jeff hardy

"Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..." *punch punch Scorpion Death Drop* "Hey, wait a dang ol' minute!?!"

According to Prowrestling.net, TNA Wrestling is offering six months of free online on-demand service for customers frustrated after ordering the Sacrifice or Victory Road or Destination X or whatever the hell PPV that was this past weekend and being cheated out of a real main event (not because it only lasted 90 seconds but because it featured Sting vs. Jeff Hardy, as if that’s a main event). Here’s the note from their Web site:

“TNA Wrestling strives to give fans who purchase our pay-per-views as close to a full three-hour event as possible. This past Sunday’s “TNA Victory Road” fell short of that standard.  Your support of TNA is never taken for granted. To show you how we value that support, we would like to offer six months of free access to the TNAondemand.com library.”

One: I love how the No. 1 thing they can boast about their PPVs is the proximity to a three-hour show, not the quality of the booking or the action or anything. Two: What, really, is the value of an on-demand service where you can call up, at your leisure, discretion and convenience, matches where Abyss slices himself half to death and draws no money, Orlando Jordan gays it up to the nth degree and draws no heat, and Rob Terry plods his water-logged ass through the motions and draws no positive-testing blood samples? All for being cheated out of a PPV climax? Sign me up! -Eric

Stunt Granny Audio #77 – Welcome Back

Welcome back to one of our crew and who has a hairdo like these guys that we want to see back?

Kevin welcomes back Jeremy to the Audio rotation and we go back to school. Well, back to TNA’s special Monday iMPACT! to get some additional thoughts out of Jeremy and bring up some points that Kevin & Eric skipped last week. We milked more out of a subject that needed no more milking. It’s new information though so give it a listen and find out how non-pasteurized milk tastes.

Hulk Hogan Returns! TNA Rules, Brother!

After reading the forum, you'll know why I choose this picture.

I’m begging you like Mike Rowe at the end of every Dirty Jobs episode (You should be watching that) to go to our forum and respond to my take live as it happened (most of the time anyway) when Hulk Hogan took over TNA. He said he was going to change wrestling forever. Did he?  See what I think because I’m important. I bought a website domain and started posting my thoughts with three other jackasses. I don’t care if you think I’m an idiot. Tell me why and I’ll gladly reconsider. Agree with me and doggie pile on the rabbit. Just go to the SG Forum tag in the upper left/middle of our page and sign up. – Kevin
