#PrimeWrestling – Season 6 – Episode 14

Gregory Iron is on a road in a rural setting. The match between Gregory Iron and Matthew Justice had been a long time coming. They trained together and hit the roads together. Justice picked him up when he was down after a bad road trip. Iron is surprised by the way Matt Justice is acting by taking a short cut. Iron said that Justice’s reign as TV Champion will be cut short. Analysis: Interesting choice of locations. I guess it spoke to them riding the roads together. Good promo and a great way to tie the story together. Score: +1.

They start with TV Champ Matthew Justice coming out with Marti Belle. Zack Gowen comes out with Iron. They got off to a quick start. Iron was the first to get the upper hand. Justice yanked Iron off the second rope to switch the moment. Justice chopped at Iron. Justice got tossed off the middle ropes. A cross body block got Iron a two count. Justice caught Iron charging in, put him on his shoulders then slammed him. Iron fought out of a Death Valley Driver. Iron nailed Handicapped Parking. Justice kicked out. Marti Belle tried to slip Justice the cane. She distracted both Iron & Gowen. Justice picked up Iron and gave him the DVD for the win.

Analysis: Perfect heel win. Well wrestled match. The banter from Joe Dombrowski & Aaron Maguire about the Puerto Rican ambassador is hilarious because it’s a call back to past years that few would recall.  Score: +1.

Nicki Valentino wants to do something big. He runs into Bryan Castle. They’re following each other. Valentino is tired of Castle. He compares himself & Vic Travagliante to the great duos of all time. Valentino challenges Castle & his friends to a tag match. Valentino is going to choose his partner. Analysis: Both of the comic characters in one match. It was bound to happen. Let’s see how they go on their own finally. Score: +1.

Sassy Steph reintroduces herself. She has a beef with Marti Belle who claims that she is bringing women’s wrestling back to Prime. Steph name drops Madison Rayne because they started women’s wrestling in Prime. Marti can kiss her Sass. Analysis: Not the strongest reason to take on Marti Belle. Score: 0.

Benjamin Boone lays down his challenge. Jay Flash accepts for a third time. Boone berates him. Flash uses his speed to start the match off on top. Boone catches Flash when he dives on him on the outside. Boone goes for the Ron Simmons spine buster. Flash kicks out. Boone swatted Flash. Boone gets cocky. Flash rolls up Boone for the win. Boone snaps. Analysis: The announcers were laying it on thick so I knew the Flash win was coming. Expected him to take more of a beating before pulling it out. Score: +1.

Vic Travagliante is confident. Jeremy Madrox lays out their three stage plan. Justice runs down Zack Gowen & Gregory Iron. Ricky Shane Page said he was going to cripple Iron’s other arm, Gowen’s other leg & he’s going to pluck Gargano’s beard. Analysis: Solid stuff. First time I’ve liked Page. Sadistic but not over the top like previously. Score: +1.

Zack Gowen, Johnny Gargano & Gregory Iron are not going to lose their spirit or their hearts. Gowne said they won’t stop until the Megalomaniacs are out of power. Gargano says that they will not be held down because they have all felt adversity before. Analysis: Not as good as the heel’s but solid enough. Score: +1.

Nicki Valentino needs to find a partner. He doesn’t know who until a masked man comes out with coffee. Analysis: Um, sure. Score: 0. Matt Cross reminds us of his Tough Enough days. He can’t stand for the Megalomaniacs. He knows what he needs to do. Analysis: Pretty vague. Well delivered. Score: +1.

Gory came out before the commercial break. Michael “The Bomber” Facade was his opponent. Gory attacked while Facade was taking off his gui. Facade came up so that Gory tripped on him. It was planned and was pretty slick. Gory stomped on Facade’s foot. Gory head scissored Facade to the outside. Gory bit Facade’s head. They started brawling on the outside. Gory got bocci balled. Facade got pushed into a garage door when he tried to drag Gory back to the ring. Gory did slide Facade back in. Gory sling shot double stomped Facade. It only got a two count. Gory pounded away. Facade hulked up. Spin kick to the back of Gory’s head. Facade double atomic dropped Gory. Facade got two after a spring board moonsault. Facade chopped Gory in the back of the head. Gory countered into a Code Breaker. Huracanrana off the top rope by Facade. Jimmy Jacobs interfered. Gory took advantage and won. Jacobs punched away on Facade. Gory chased away Jacobs. He then boot washed Facade.

Analysis: This match up may have been their best to date. Both are taking less chances but still displaying athleticism. The end was an interesting twist that fits both Jacobs, who won’t take on Gory because he hasn’t been a problem, and Gory who is protective of the Dead Wrestling Society way. Score: +1.

Final Score: 8/10. Final Analysis: Prime seems to be getting their house back in order after a rough patch to start the season. Stories are shaping up. Wrestlelution is taking form and I still have one more episode to catch up on. There were a lot of little snippets in this episode but most did well with their limited time. -Kevin

Stunt Granny #PWOWrestling Audio Show 2

Dan & Kevin are back for another show all about Pro Wrestling Ohio. They cover episodes ten and eleven in an effort to stay current with the product. They start at the end of episode ten because Kevin can’t resist a segue that Dan put on a tee for him. How did Marion Fontaine and Matt Cross do in the ring? Was it overshadowed by the angle with Justin LaBar at the end of the match? “Omega” is also the end but did he do Benjamin Boone any good in their match? Dan & Kevin move on to the appearance of women in a ring for the first time since Wrestlelution? Was it worth the wait? Did one of your hosts realize his expectations have been raised significantly by PWO? Did Matt Mason meet those lofty goals? Dan & Kevin move on to episode eleven and actually go in the order the show ran. How good was the match between Johnny Gargano and Bobby Beverly? Did the guys think of a new specialty shop after the masked man showed up again? Dan gets to talk about his favorite wrestling authorities as “The Megastar” puts LaBar over a barrel. Krimson stole the show in Kevin’s opinion but did Dan agree? Did someone else on the Stunt Granny staff tip off Kevin about the quality of this promo? Did quality control rear it’s ugly head again in this episode? Aaron Draven & Benjamin Boone got mic time after their bout from the previous week. Did either of them capitalize on their time? The main event ended up with multiple story lines since the Dead Wrestling Society, Jason Bane, Michael “The Bomber” Facade and Gregory Iron. Are Dan & Kevin content to sit back and relax and let this play out or do they know what’s going to happen? Well, we suggest you sit back and relax as you listen to this audio when you click on the link below.

#PWOWrestling – Season 5 – Episode 10

Veda Scott looks good in the librarian glasses.

Joe Dombrowski and Aaron Maguire open the show by telling us the main event is Matt Cross against “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine for the PWO Title. Veda Scott and Sassy Steph are in action too. The opening match is Benjamin Boone with N8 Mattson against “Omega” Aaron Draven. (I’m not sure the last time I’ve seen him.) Dombrowski tried to explain who was injured but I couldn’t hear him well. Maguire said they’re not tag champs any more so I suppose they were talking about Flip Kendrick’s injury. (It seems to be legit from what I read on their site.) Boone tries to intimidate Draven, who is not. They exchanged some big guy (show of power), little guy moves (agility & quickness). Draven flipped onto his own face trying to take over Boone. The Big Bear dropped a knee on him. Boone gave Draven a short clothesline. Boone locked on the dreaded abdominal stretch. Draven hip tossed out but Boone stayed in control. He gave Draven a big boot. Nice key lock in the pin by Boone. He locked on a grounded bear hug. Draven elbowed out. Draven got out of a choke slam by DDTing Boone. Draven clotheslined Boone to no affect. He gave Boone an atomic drop then drop kicked him. Draven spring board heel kicked Boone. Draven only got a two count. Boone locked on the Bear Trap DDT but Draven fought out. He kicked Boone a couple of times then gave him an enziguri. That move draped Boone over the middle rope. Boone shoulder tackled a charging Draven. Boone went for a spring board power bomb (I feel like I’m not using the right words there) but Draven turned it into a huracanrana. Draven gave him Rolling Thunder. Draven kicked him in the face. Boone came back with a spear. He only got a two count. They countered some moves. Draven turned it into a roll up for the three count.

Analysis: I do not think Draven wrestled a very good match. Boone held up his end of the bargain and adapted to several botches well. Since I liked one guy and not the other. Score: 0.

Matt Mason had a relationship with Krimson. He is being interviewed by Vic Travagliante. Moore said that he doesn’t know who Krimson is because he knows that man as CK3. Moore has been up and down the roads with him. He asks Vic whether he wants to call him Krimson or CK3. Vic answers Krimson. Moore admonishes him. CK3 became depressed after his wife left him and his friends getting signed to better deals. Moore said that he’s always positive. He said that CK is sick and that he needs to get away from wrestling. Moore closes by saying the only way he stays in wrestling is if he turns Krimson back into CK.

Analysis: Hmm, interesting. I don’t think he was the best. He needed some more conviction and to relax some. I like the take though. Makes for an interesting storyline. Score: +1.

Bryan Castle is waving to the camera while Brian Bender admonishes him. Castle got him a gift. It was Bender’s own lucky head band. Bender said that he won and Castle lost. Bender said that Castle had been doing great in the gym but then he tried to eat a candy. Bender gave him a protein bar. Castle spit it out because it tasted like cardboard. Analysis: It’s a fun little give and take. Protein bars are pretty tasty these days. Score: +1.

PWO – Season 3 Episode 23

The Romans of the Decadence by Thomas Couture. Yep, I'm being an art dork again. Will Dawn Decadence make it past this episode of Pro Wrestling Ohio?

They showed a replay of the end of last week’s show, the match between “Amazing” N8 Mattson & “M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross. They then showed footage from after they went off air. An old guy came and presented N8 Mattson with a trophy. Mattson gave the old guy a hard time about being from Ohio. Mattson said the sooner he gets out of Ohio, the better. Mattson jumped into Benjamin Boone’s arms.

Joe Dombrowski hyped the main event which was the Homeless & Handicapped Connection against Sex Appeal. Eric Ryan came to the ring with “The Rock Show” Earnie Ballz and Corey Winters. Isaac Montana was his opponent. Montana locked in an arm bar after an arm drag. Aaron Maguire suggested that Ryan & Winters not listen to Ballz because he’s not working well as a manager.  Ryan bailed out of the ring after a drop kick. Montana went to the top rope and splashed both Ryan & Winters. Dombrowski said that a twenty man gauntlet match would determine the number one contender after e match between Johnny Gargano and N8 Mattson happens.  Ryan caught Montana charging in with a back elbow. He then block bustered Montana. Winters attacked Montana while Ryan distracted the referee.  Ryan slammed Montana then missed on a second rope moonsault.  Montana spine bustered Ryan. Earnie Ballz told Ryan to go for a pile driver but he went for a verta-breaker. Ryan got the win. Ballz and Ryan started bitching at each other.

Analysis: The match was solid. The storyline with Ballz being a bad manager is weird especially since Ryan & Winters weren’t winners before they joined with Ballz. Someone has got to be on TV to lose. Score: +1.

The Sons of Michigan were in the back. Boone acted irritated but Mattson told him that at least one of them won the tournament. Mattson went on to say Boone tried hard and he respected him. Mattson said that he has another chance at a title shot in the gauntlet match. Mattson assured Boone that he’d give him a title shot after he beat Gargano. Mattson then called in Ben Fruth because he was disappointed in him. Matson said he doesn’t associate with losers. Fruth was still carrying around a flyer looking for Mike Tolar. Mattson said he was giving him another opponent, Jason Bane, because they needed the $50,000 reward. Mattson said he’s going to be a dual champion and he’s going to take the belts back to Michigan.

PWO – Season 3 – Episode 22

Will "M-Dogg 20" Matt Cross or N8 Mattson win the chance to take on Johnny Gargano?

The opening contest was Brian Bender against Jason Bane. Aaron Maguire said that Bender has “$50,000 Why” he should take on Bane even though it hadn’t worked out well before. Bane tackled Bender who is normally the strong guy in his matches. Bane slammed Bender hard. He followed with some forearms and a clothesline. Bane hit a nice looking t-bone suplex.  Bender caught Bane charging into the corner with a knee. Bender locked in a front chancery. Bender went to the top rope and got hit in the gut as he leaped off of it. Bane “Bainlined him” for the victory. Corey James, a new comer, tried to collect the bounty but was power bombed for his punishment.

Analysis: Good segment that gives Bane a win over an opponent his size. Joe Dombrowski noted that he’s lost 100 lbs. in the last couple of years. I think moving down to 265 made him a better wrestler over that time. Score: +1.

They replayed the Benjamin Boone vs. “M-Dogg” Matt Cross match from the previous week.

Benjamin Boone was accompanied to the ring by Ben Fruth. Dombrowski listed the indignities that Fruth has had to endure under Tolar & now the Sons of Michigan. Isaac Montana was his opponent. He wore an Ohio State shirt to the ring to suck up to the fans. They did a skit trying to get the fans to cheer for OSU and against Michigan. Boone laid in some heavy forearms in the corner. Boone whipped him to the other corner and clotheslined him into the new corner.  Montana chased Fruth around ring side and was caught with a clothesline by Boone. Boone splashed Montana.  Montana fought back with some forearms and clotheslines of his own. Montana caught Boone with a pair of drop kicks. Montana missed the frog splash. Boone hit “The Bear Trap” DDT which is a bear hug into a DDT. As Boone celebrated, “Omega” Aaron Draven hit him with a chair in the back. Draven went to the top rope and hit a double stomp. Draven then motioned for a title belt referring to his former status as TV Champion which is held by the leader of the Sons of Michigan, N8 Mattson.
