Stunt Granny Conversation: Jeremy & Kevin 12/4/2012

ryback

Jeremy: Man the more I watched raw last night the more i questioned why. Punk was the only decent thing in the entire three hours.

Kevin: I’ll have to look over my review.

Jeremy: Cesaro winning was a nice, so two.

Kevin: It was a weird episode because of how much Baby Momma Drama talked to me.

Jeremy: The rest was boring and unimaginative.

Kevin: I like The Shield stuff. Finally putting over some heels.

Jeremy: Yes then they got fed to Ryback. It should have never happened. Ryback should have run down and then cleaned house with no contact at all. They should have scattered. You can’t build the conflict with him immediately getting his hands on them .

Kevin: He only got his hands on one guy.  And babyfaces finally did what they should, help each other out in a timely manner instead of waiting around backstage

Jeremy: He got his hands on Rollins last week though. The chase is way smarter. Build it up. Don’t get on them the very next day and then subsequent weeks.

Kevin: Forgot about that

Jeremy: Think of it in terms of Star wars. A New Hope: Luke sees Vader fighting Obi-Wan. Empire Strikes back he gets a glimpse of a fight then at the end they finally duel. Finally in return of The Jedi they get it on big time and it comes to a conclusion. If it had been written by WWE it would have been  an entire episode of Raw.

Stunt Granny Audio #206

Jeremy and Kevin are here this week to tickle your ear buds. They do it first by talking about the biggest news in the land, Disney buying Lucasfilm. What did somebody say there was a storm that was more important? They belabor the point about how terrible the most recent trilogy is. How recent is that trilogy though? Do they still like other aspects of the Lucas Empire? The guys wrap up the entertainment talk by talking about some Legos, not just the Star Wars variety. Which ones has Kevin had his eyes on recently? The guys move on to some wrestling talk by mentioning the big story, Ryback getting a cheap disqualification win over CM Punk. Eric & Kevin wanted to keep the belt on CM Punk in last week’s show. Dusty lobbied for it in his story. What does the fourth member of Stunt Granny think? They ponder whether it is good that they’re dragging this feud out now with a traditional Survivor Series match. Is the match type antiquated or is the writing just too bad for it? The last topic they get to is Wade Barrett. Is there a point to building up the guy to lose a series of tough matches? Jeremy gets out some venting to end the show because Kevin wasted too match time talking Star Wars to get to Mad Libs this week. Click on the link below to listen!

Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of @WWE #Raw

So, my internet and cable was down from about 6 PM until 8 PM. I’m pretty sure Baby Momma Drama talked the entire time. I’m starting to think the guy can’t handle quiet. I really should have pulled a Darth Vader and said “Shut up, bitch”. I’m going to keep on typing and talking though. Probably on the audio show too unless Dusty & I can lure Eric out of retirement. Let’s roll.

I started recording a couple of minutes after 8 but I still got the full opening segment. Damn. Mitchell Cool is very punny to start the show. Big Show is in the ring and getting some good boos. Blocking one Brogue Kick means it can’t ever connect. The crowd buys it though. He makes some real sense by challenging Daniel Bryan. I think that was Aksana with Justin Gabriel. Sure, give all the tag teams a hot broad. They have lots of unused of those on the roster too. Give them TV time. AJ Lee orders Bryan into the match. Little kid cut out goat faces. The WWE will whore out anything. The match is over forty-five seconds so is Big Show really redeeming himself? I missed another chunk of TV time when the cable went out. Show is going to win as soon as I start my “second” recording of Raw. I got nothing on the quality of the match. The commercial took up more time than it did. Kane stops Big Show from going for the WMD.

Paul Heyman gets our first extended talking segment. He’s just shilling for CM Punk. We get the answer to how bad Cena’s elbow is. Cool is doing a good job of hyping HIAC. Him heading back to the baby face ledger is helping out. Being beside Jim Ross, JBL or both helps even more. I miss some of Punk’s promo explaining him back fisting a fan last week to the girl. Just when Punk asks for more patience, Vince McMahon shows up in another awful suit. Vince takes away Punk’s choice of opponent.

Brodus Clay and Alberto Del Rio don’t get their entrances. Brodus starts showing off nipple again. Who’s got the screen cap? The kick to the back of the head was so half assed. The arm break that followed wasn’t much better. Cross arm breaker for the win. Punk is talking to Heyman in the locker room. Punk wants to challenge Vince to another match. Santino & Zack Ryder get an entrance before the commercial break.

Dan & Kevin are back again talking about the debut of Matt Mason against a returning Brian Bender. Since Kevin already has his opinion in his review, he asks Dan about his perspective on the match. They move on to talking about Matt Cross but has Cross moved on? Jimmy Jacobs has moved in to PRIME Wrestling, but is he a big enough name to center the promotion around? Will a returning Johnny Gargano help the story line out? Jacobs is also involved with the perceived splitting of Sex Appeal. Is Nicki Valentino getting kicked to the curb because of a returning Bobby Shields? Who do the guys thinks matches up better about an on the outs Bobby Beverly? Jason Bane laid out an ultimatum and go an answer from the Man Beast. Will Rhino draw as much as previous attractions to Wrestlelution? Krimson, Bane’s opponent last year, cuts another promo. Is it up to his usual lofty standards? Michael Facade completed a journey for the TV Title, but what was the hitch that Ken & Dan found in this development? TNA Audio #5 – Swinging From The Barn Door

Yeah man, Direct Auto Insurance is awesome. Say, don't we have a title match coming up or something?

This is a very special edition of TNA Audio because not only do Dusty and Matt discuss the February 9 Impact episode, but they also go above and beyond the call of duty to talk about the February 12 Against All Odds pay-per-view as well! That means that your earbuds are in for a sweet, sweet serenade about things like:

-Why Dusty feels like Hulk Hogan is a human acid trip, and why he is responsible for that woman’s hideous attire.

-Why they both feel like TNA is really getting the hang of solid, episodic storytelling, and why they might have a leg up over WWE when it comes to this.

-Why Magnus might be on the cusp on something, if he can break free from the boys in the back and bullshit of the politics behind that curtain.

-Why the company would really be in business if only they could figure out how to properly end the main events of their pay-per-views.

And a whole lot more nonsense, including Dusty yelling loudly at his dog, Matt being lethargic because this was one of the most boring Impacts in a long time, Dusty hoping people notice he just got a new phone and that’s why he sounds like a whole lot better this week (fingers crossed), Dusty standing silently to Matt’s side with a towel around his neck making intimidating looking faces, Matt quietly binging on his free ice cream from last week while Dusty rants, and a whole lot more, so listen or death!

TNA Audio #4 – Smell The Greatness

Very good. Now find it on a map, chubs.

Dusty and Matt continue their journey to the center of TNA’s mind with this edition of Stunt Granny TNA Audio, this time focusing on the February 2 edition of Impact. Inside they explore:

-Why did Matt get hella free ice cream today? Hint: it had nothing to do with built up good karma over transcribing Hulk Hogan’s entire rambling five minute promo, although maybe it should have.

-Why did Mark Haskins almost die on national television? Hint: it had nothing to do with him being a good professional wrestler or Ref Hardy being an adequate referee.

-Why did Mike Tenay blow the entire Hulk Hogan as Garrett Bischoff’s trainer angle? Hint: it had nothing to do with Tenay having even a basic level of intelligence that would allow him to exist in this world.

-Just how hot *was* Christy Hemme this week? Hint: very.

There’s also this little matter:

And a whole lot more, and it’s only worth an hour of your time, so download this bad boy this very minute or there will be severe repercussions, jack!

PWO – Season 4 – Episode 11

You've got to love the intestine liner.

Pro Wrestling Ohio decided to start with a replay of “The Megastar” Marion Fontaine slapping Justin LaBar after dropping the PWO Title to Jason Bane. Joe Dombrowski congratulated Bane but he quickly went to ripping on on Fontaine and apologizing to LaBar. Dombrowski said that Fontaine’s apology is coming next week. He said that no one should strike a fan and the fans shouldn’t strike the wrestlers.

Analysis: Solid way to cover your ass if you’re worried that a fan will do something dumb to a wrestler. Dombrowski goes over board with the indignation but that is the way of wrestling. Score: 0.

Dombrowski (after being backstage) is at ring side and introduces Vic Travagliante as his color man because Aaron Maguire is incapacitated. Sex Appeal vs. Aeroform is the main event to be the number one contender for the PWO Tag Team Titles. Benjamin Boone takes on Ben Fruith (Couldn’t be less excited) and Shima Xion takes on Matthew Justice to be in line for a TV Title match.

Xion versus Justice is immediately up. They both look to be in great shape. They talked about Krimson and his plans for the PWO Title. (I think he’s the only guy that matches up physcially with Bane so it’s a good choice.) They started with some basic moves and reversals. There were a couple of of botched moves. It led to Xion finally taking over the match.Xion suplexed Justice and only got two. He attacked frustrated then posed while hair spraying himself. Xion rolled through a sunset flip and kicked Justice in the chest. Xion gave Justiece a bear hug from behind.  Justice elbowed his way out then power slammed Xion but couldn’t capitalize. Justice did his best Cena impersonation. Xion locked in a cross face. Justice rolled out and gave Xion a Death Valley Driver. Xion kicked out at two. Xion turned a springboard into another cross face which forced the tap out. They hyped the main event again. (Enough already).

Analysis: Well, I mentioned Justice signing a WWE Developmental deal so I figure this win by Xion is a way to get someone over who’s sticking around. Xion has been good when he has been around which has been infrequently in the past. Let’s hope he sticks around because he can add something good to the roster. Good match outside of the pair of botched moves. Score: +1.

The Homeless Handicapped Connection (Gregory Iron & Hobo Joe) were telling Ben Fruith that they are his friends. Iron tells him he needs to be more aggressive. Hobo Joe told him to talk trash. Joe cuts a promo about how he’s going to slice open Benny Boone and put N8 Mattson inside of Boone. Iron told Fruith that he talked to the producers and Fruith is allowed to drop any words he wants to. Fruith then said he strongly disagrees with Mattson & Boone’s beliefs. Iron & Joe are disappointed but they tell him it’s a good start.
