Stunt Granny Audio: OHPA 6

Ken and Ken are back for another edition of OHPA! They don’t do much yammering before getting they jump on their first topic: An Epic Rap Battle between Superman and Goku. Why did this topic remind Kevin of Idiot Intern? What is their history with the show Dragonball Z? How dedicated was Ken to the show? What piece of electronics starts off discussion of old technologies? Why do they like Goku better than Superman? How was the Rap Battle itself? They move on to talking about another love from their past, arcade games. Ken & Kevin bring up StevenF’s article about beating Dragon’s Lair. How much do they remember about the game? Did they ever beat it? Why was it different from many other video games of the time? How much did it cost to buy Space Ace, which was Dragon’s Lair in the future? How did that compare to the cost of a Nintendo? Why could you play multiple games on this arcade console?  How did 50 Cent’s terrible first pitch make it into this segment? What humble brag event finished this story? Which one of your hosts would have done the same? Ken & Kevin end with a topic from Kevin’s recent travel, legal marijuana in Colorado. How many jobs has it created? Is it more likely to be legalized in OH or PA in the near future? How is the state Washington doing with their program compared to Colorado? Of course Kevin tried some while he was there so go ahead and roll one up and click on the link below for a high-larious show!

Brand New Stunt Granny Audio Show Without A Name Yet.

DC-Comics-Ghost-Rider-Marvel-Comics-comparisons-pixel-art-suit-superheroes

Yes indeed it is the start of a brand new podcast here on Stunt Granny. Shahid and Jeremy figure they talk enough about comics, movies, television and all sorts of pop culture that they may as well make a show of it. So, the results are what you can download and listen to immediately. For their first show the guys discuss the season finale of Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. They delve in to the full season of each show in order to bring everyone up to speed on the shows for those of you who haven’t given either of them a view. They discuss what worked and didn’t work about each show and theorize over the direction of each show going in to next season.  In rapid fire fashion they go over the Batman image reveal; The Flash trailer and why initial Internet fan reaction is normally totally incorrect. So give it a listen and give us ideas for the show name while you are at it.

Stunt Granny Video Game Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice Title Image

Who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman?  You know, if Batman had some special supply of kryptonite that would make it a fair fight?  Would Batman’s superior tactics and ridiculously specialized gadgetry win out, or would Superman conquer with his abilities to fly and shoot lasers from his eyes?  Injustice: Gods Among Us asks these questions and lets the players decide the answer in battle.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a new fighting game from NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive.  NetherRealm is run by Ed Boon, one of the creators of Mortal Kombat, and the influences definitely show in Injustice.  The game is available on PS3, Wii U, and Xbox 360; with a free to play version on iOS devices.  This review will be focusing on the PS3 version, but I understand the 360 copy is comparable.

If you are thinking that this sounds familiar, you may have played Midway’s Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe in 2008.  Rest assured, however, Injustice stands apart from the Mortal Kombat games in several ways.  First, the cast is all DC heroes and villains.  The big names are all there: Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Lex Luthor, Catwoman, Sinestro and Joker.  The game also has characters that don’t get the mainstream spotlight treatment, such as Ares, Black Adam, and Killer Frost.

Stunt Granny Audio #158

Eric & Jeremy bring on another Asshole Edition of the Stunt Granny Audio. You won’t believe who they make fun of the whole show to prove that they are indeed assholes. Speaking of that orifice, they start the show off talking about Mr. Anderson and the rest of TNA. What did Kevin say TNA did right this past week? Did Eric & Jeremy agree with him? What did they think happened right this week? Is Bobby Roode getting the proper build up for his title shot? Is James Storm still outshining Roode? And just how funny was Kurt Angle talking to Jeff Hardy? Eric & Jeremy eventually move on to Raw talk. Was it a good idea to have Alberto Del Rio on the head sets along with CM Punk? Are the Super Shows helping or hurting people? Is it a two way street between the shows? Is Jeremy caving on his long term faith in the WWE’s writing skills with the recent posting of the video footage on WWE.com of the Miz & R Truth? Find out that and Eric’s Twitter address by clicking on the link below!Stunt Granny Audio Show #158

Kevin’s Blog: Almost Live, Definitely Half Assed Review of Super Smackdown Live

Smackdown is super, thanks for asking.

I could have passed up doing this easily since I know Jeremy and I are recording tomorrow. We’ll be talking about Raw and Smackdown. Oh well, no one posted anything today so I’m going to take a swing at Super Smackdown Live. John Cena comes out and does the “jokes.” Rodriguez gets to do lackey duties for a change. RR gets to take a lackey’s punch too. Barrett delivers a good promo which makes Cena go serious and deliver himself.

I’m really confused by the corner splash Cena is doing now. The guy is a tank but he’s not big enough to make that look worth while. I expected Barrett to lose but wow, he lost pretty handily. Cena did not extract revenge with that win though. Douche bag Striker gets to ask Henry dumb questions. Henry even calls him out for their stupidity. Henry knows how to deliver on the mic.

Sin Cara takes on Daniel Bryan. Weird. Are they going to stick with this version of Sin Cara when the other one gets over the violation? I mean, this guy is way better even if the twisting cross body block was telegraphed. OK, so Bryan loses again clean. I guess he’s got the losing streak gimmick. I just don’t understand. Sin Cara goes heel. They need more of them. People didn’t freak out though. I mean, Bryan is on a losing streak and he’s constantly called a chump, why should people care if he gets beat up? Have Bryan win and Sin Cara turns on Bryan after he shakes his hand. That’d definitely get the sore loser boo. Evan Bourne stinks the joint up. Kofi talks up the tag team division. I keep thinking they’re going to stop but they have been consistent with this tandem. Sheamus at B.A. Star. Hilarious.

Stunt Granny Big 11 (or so) Week Ending 6/4/11

1. Kharma – She had the most memorable segment of the week. It sucks that she won’t have a chance to make the women’s division relevant until next year. Kharma cut a well spoken, articulate promo that got Jim Ross in a little bit of hot water. Later in the week, she said that insult was the reason she has made it in wrestling so everyone won. congratulations on the pregnancy, Kharma. -Kevin

2. Brand Amnesia – Since the WWE thinks we’re all a bunch of idiots who don’t pay attention, I’d like to note that in my Blog and my follow up article that Alex Riley was going to Smackdown. Just over a month after he got drafted, Alex Riley got signed by the anonymous Raw General Manager on Monday. Teddy Long needs to be fired for letting any talent go because Smackdown has got nobody and Riley was at least on the radar unlike Ted DiBiase. -Kevin

3. Imitations – TNA has got more problems than I care to catalog but this week alone they trotted out Miss Tessmacher who is a rip off from Superman, Mr. Anderson continued to imitate the young Sting, Crimson is trying to do Goldberg, Eric Young impersonated the Great Muta, Abyss continues to make believe he’s Mankind and lastly, Impact Wrestling imitated a wrestling program. -Kevin

4. Christian – All of these kneejerk jerks online who poo-pooed Christian losing the somewhat-coveted World Heavyweight Title only a few days after he won it might rest comfortably knowing Christian’s still in the main event given this week’s Smackdown angle. Oh, I’m sorry, making main-event money isn’t good enough and he should have to lug around a huge championship belt everywhere he goes? Some people are dunces. -Eric

5. Ultimate Warrior – Warrior is making waves online by calling out Hulk Hogan for blocking Warrior fans (Destrucians?) from Hogan’s social media platforms. Well, if people really want to make an impact, maybe they shouldn’t hide behind their keyboards and make smart-ass comments like a… bunch of… tough guys…… oh. -Eric

6. Chyna- Porn. Chyna is in a new porn movie. A new porn is being made starring professional wrestling’s Chyna. (Sorry that this entry is so redundant, but our posts about Chyna and porn have gotten us a lot of hits lately. We’ll piggyback off that trainwreck any day!) -Eric

7. Front Row Kid- At the 48 minute mark, or so ,of Impact Miss Tessmacher gets in the ring. On the lower left hand side of the screen there is a blonde woman looking to her right at her son. He has to be about ten-tears old. He is fake applauding. Miss Tessmacher then pulls off her skirt showing off her tight ass. In the background the kids jaw falls open as he raises both arms in the air in stunned celebration. This is the only genuine reaction I have ever seen on a TNA broadcast. –Jeremy

8. Impact Wrestling- So wrestling matters? Um, the show starts with talking, followed by a brawl, then more talking, somewhere there is a three minute match then more talking, something with Don West, eventually a Matt Hardy match so that doesn’t count as wrestling, then talking, tits, an actual match wrecked by bad booking then it ends with talking. One positive, I have become a marksman with the dvr controls. – Jeremy
